Knighton Matt Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 don't know that much about his recent career but think he's a winger which we're not exactly blessed with at the moment... Northern Ireland midfielder Philip Mulryne is looking for a new club after leaving Norwich City. The 27-year-old, nearing the end of his current Canaries contract, is leaving Carrow Road by mutual consent. Belfast-born Mulryne, who signed from Manchester United for £500,000 in 1999, said it was time for a change. "I will be sad to leave but I do need a fresh start. I hope Norwich achieve the results they need to stay in the Premiership," said Mulryne. Norwich manager Nigel Worthington said he wished Mulryne all the best in the future. from bbc sport http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ich/4515865.stm
Ric Flair Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 He was instrumental in Norwich's promotion season and he's definately a danger at this level. What I would say is if he can't get in to Norwich's team then perhaps he's not cut out for the premiership and Levein wants long term signings. He's still young though and i'd be more than happy to see him here, perhaps Kenton could have a word aswell. We need a new winger and he's up there with the best we could attract for nothing!
Tomassi Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 i instantly thought this Matt when i saw on Sky Sports News he terminated his contract.. woth a go i reckon
Knighton Matt Posted 5 May 2005 Author Posted 5 May 2005 yeah certainly a player with credentials who has lost his way recently and struggled to make the norwich first team. still a NI international though interestingly enough i remember he was set to move to forest not long ago but it all fell through. certainly worth close scrutiny in my opinion.
fosseman Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Not good enough for Leicester. He's peaked. The only way for him now is down...and not with us!
Solihullfox Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Don't know enough about him to pass a credible opinion but would he have played for a couple of years or so with Kenton ? Might be interesting to see how they performed together.
Scow Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 He's more a central midfielder - Not as good as Hughes/Williams IMO.
true blue jamie Posted 6 May 2005 Posted 6 May 2005 cud be a gud signin but we can do better than him
Hulse4England Posted 6 May 2005 Posted 6 May 2005 Mulryne could be a class act if levein plays him in the right position. he wasn't given a chance in the premiership
Hazza Posted 6 May 2005 Posted 6 May 2005 He's more a central midfielder - Not as good as Hughes/Williams IMO. 103731[/snapback] My thoughts exactly, would be good backup but i doubt he'd accept that.
