Why are you happy to get a loan player in if the goalie gets injured?

If that is the case will everyone please stop worrying about the lack of strikers, we'll just get a loan one in if Howard or Fryatt get injured.

And the reason I don't think they are good enough is because NFP appears to be looking for another one, in NFP I trust.

Of course I'll be happy to get one in on loan, you show me a club in the championship that has more than a couple of senior keepers on their books "incase of injuries". You're too hung up on last season's injuries, and anyway loaning countless keepers did no harm whatsoever.

You seem to think that a goalie is not important (did you rate Henderson) and yet Clough thought that Shilton was worth a goal a game.

London free paper (possibly Metro) said that Fulham want Phillips as back-up for Schwarzer and Stockdale.

I'd prefer that they get him and we take Stockdale (on the basis I've not seen Phillips play, but I thought Stockdale looked a good keeper for us).

So Fulham can have three senior goalies with good pedigrees on their books but we should apparently make do with one senior and two untried kids and 'just get someone in on loan'.

I'm pretty sure Cloughies quote was not that Shilton was worth a goal a game - more like 10 goals in a season if I remember correctly 'young man!'

Phillips is a decent keeper, but prone to the odd clanger - there isn't much between him and Weale to be honest, so I wouldn't see the point. You either go for a more experienced head as back up to Chris (who's still inexperienced at this level and in terms of game time.) or go for a younger guy to push into the first team. (Which would be Logan wouldn't it, minus the rubber ring he found last season.)

I don't believe we have ANY quality between the sticks. A point I made way back (among a few others).

A goal keepers superb save, is equal to any brilliant goal.

Lets just field eleven goal keepers.
