Ric Flair Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 How did he get on? He sounded our best player on the radio and Levein seemed to be happy with his debut. One thing I will say is, Alan is proof that you can't judge a player until they play first team football and Levein needs to let Dawson loose in the first team. I've watched Sheehan a few times in the reserves and thought he was steady, possibly good enough for the first team. He gets his chance and plays well, as has Stearman. Dawson in my opinion though has been immense whenever i've seen him and given what Stearman and Sheehan have done I think Dawson could easily follow suit. He has all the attributes to make the step up. The future's definately bright with Sheehan and Stearman. Let's hope Dawson and Wesolowski are given a chance too at some point, they won't disappoint. Did Sheehan take any free kicks?

A left back who added width, got fowards, and put some decent balls into the box. Excellent.

Cobbo Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 Got back not so long ago. Spent the weekend down there and had a good time. Game was crap though - Only positive aspect was Alan Sheehan looking composed at left back. 105156[/snapback]
Nationwider Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 If he can tackle and cross a ball, he's well ahead of Jordan....give the lad a chance, I say.
Stuliasz Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 I thought Sheehan looked ok, with a bit more maturity will become more composed on the ball. He did seem to like to get forward but left the left side exposed on more than one occasion, again better positional sense and the know how of when to go forward and when not to will come with more experience. He looks like he would be a pretty solid player on that side overall.
Sparky Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 i thought he did very well for his debut , strong in the tackle and can deliver a beautiful cross
posh_bird Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 I agree I thought it was great to see Sheehan in the first team and with his performance he should be a strong contender for more regularity in apperances in the team next season. Dawson now deserves his chance to prove himself just as Sheehan and Stearman have done. Such promising young talent.
Leicester_Mad Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 funny when he was tipped off the stretcher ! Looked quality, like Stearman and they should be considered very able back up at least next season
foxilescom Posted 10 May 2005 Posted 10 May 2005 People think of the Scottish connection with the new team, but we could have a strong element in the Republic of Ireland team in the future !. We have Alan Maybury at the moment in the full international team, then 3 just called up into the Republics under 21 training squad. Sheehan, Dawson, McCarthy. More a Celtic Connection than just a Scottish one. http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10274,00.html
