leicesterfox86 Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 I want to go to as many as possible this year but a lot of my mates either don't have the cash or don't support Leicester so I'm in two minds. I have done it a lot. Takes nothing away from the day to be honest. The shorter the journey the better when on your own, but once in the pub before the game and then in the gorund, you will meet lots of people. Some of which you probably know anyway. We are all as one!
Unit Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 i've only ever been to one home game on my own, it was horrible, i met this man outside the ticket office who sold me a ticket for a fiver because his mate who was going to have it had died, quite depressing and boring.
Lovejoy Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 Didn't bother me when I went to Peterborough on my own as I met a few people from FT there and had a bloody good day in the end, despite the result. Once you start meeting a few off here, you should have no reason to go on your own. That was a reet laugh . I have a season ticket in L1 on my own, as the guy who I always used to go with is at uni and can't go too often, but always get on well with the peeps around me. As long as you're fairly sociable, shouldn't be a problem for awayers either.
Bluefoxtim Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Oh my. Some guy was next to me and my mates on one of the coaches and had obviously come alone. If you have ever seen 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles', he was Del Griffith. Could talk for England, and spouted absolute bollocks most of the time. He seemed to think he knew anything and everything about football and tried to share his knowledge in any way possible. Whenever someone spoke, be it left, right, in front or behind, he'd have to join in. Main topic was how awful Dyer is because he does not have a right foot. I don't give a crap if he reads this, as I've only just washed my face after he accidently spat on me within 10 minutes of leaving the ground!!! Fair enough, if you're on your own join in, but don't take over! Made the long coach journey much worse than it should have been

Bluefoxtim Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Only kidding. I saw you at the top with Aaron. He used to go school with me + now Leicester Uni.

Ilkeston_Fox Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Yep, every now and then. Newcastle is my next one
Papa Shango Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Not a Leicester fan (Saints ) but thought I'd chip in here. I go to every Saints game, and at over half of the away games I'm on my own. The other people I sometimes go with either can't afford to go to every game or don't want to. At the end of the day I just want to see my team play every week, so as long as I can do that I honestly don't care if someone is with me or not. I guess it is more enjoyable if you are with friends, but you get to know familiar faces if you travel up on the coach/train, and once you get into the ground and the match starts with everyone singing etc, it doesn't matter anyway. There's not many better feelings in football than when you've just scored an important goal and you start celebrating with the person next to you who you've never met in your life!
