Did it last season and played cm for 45 minutes. Great if exhausting day. Hope to do it again hopefully more fitter and a more lazy position.

I've got my fingers crossed that Muzzy Izzet is one of the stars, as he was last year - what's Muzzi like at left back? What was the standard of play, are there younger and fitter players or is it old fat men kidding themselves!

Muzzy was great. I played against him and hurt him... :( Because Walshy didn't turn up despite all his mates being there, Muzz had to play centre midfield for us in the second half to balance it out.

The standard of play was pretty good albeit the scoreline 5-4. The fitness played a part at the very end and there was quite a few younger lads. Then there were the odd 30's who knock the ball around very well and then the odd poor one. Like I say, decent standard and surprised me to be honest. You simply don't realise who wide the pitch is until you are on it.

Don't ya? It's always looked wide when I've watched.

The game is scheduled for May 16th - and I'm glad to see the club didn't do something stupid and say 'you can have the pitch on playoff final day!

I'm really looking forward to this but also shitting it about staying fit, as my normal season is now ramping up into proper gear. Following a lull due to the snow and bad weather at the start of the year my Saturday and Sunday teams are now fixing up midweek games in preperation for when the clocks go forward making it a chocca fixture list.

Add to that the numerous random phone calls asking for a spare keeper for 5-a-side's and other games and the inablitlity to say 'no' my body is starting to feel the toll. Tweaks, aches and a couple of challenges that resulted in me landing on my head have all not helped over the last couple of weeks.

Love to hear from anyone else who's involved in this game - I'm the home side's number 11, but only pose as a great striker in my dreams!

And if anyone's played in these before - whats the standard like? Are the teams full of Fat old men chasing a dream or young skillful youths with loads of skill looking to impress any potential scouts watching or a bit of both?

What a superb day yesterday was - I throughly recommend fellow fans to take up the opportunity if there's a game next season - Football Aid

Muzzi, Ali and Mike (Whitlow) were superb, and despite being on the losing side (the score was something like 9-1) I was delighted when I popped up with a header that proved to be our sides only goal of the game in front of the kop!

Another kind of highlight was going in to try and nick the ball off Muzzi, only to find him far too quick and the legend taking a tumble over my outstreched leg - oops!
