multipack Posted 20 September 2009 Posted 20 September 2009 Thought nelson had good game on saturday. Seems to get picked on. The guy next to me at Watford kept slagging him for being scottish. would expect it if Levein had signed him. Howard was rubbish on saturday and far worse than nelson but nobody got on his back,

Thracian Posted 21 September 2009 Posted 21 September 2009 It now seems that King started two of the moves which led to our goals (first and our vital equaliser), yet one or two people rated him as low as four. He might do a lot of his work quietly and simply but it's high time some folk started to appreciate the contribution he makes both in attack and defence.

Still I guess it's nice when you stop. BTW.......Once they sorted themselves out in the first few minute, the Oakley, King, Wellens partnership produced one of the best displays I have seen from a City midfield in years! Their passing and the way they rotated roles was first class, we rely must persevere with that setup!
Cobbo Posted 22 September 2009 Posted 22 September 2009 Harsh.Neilson played well today, made some excellent runs down the right, made one world class tackle, some good headers and was solid. He did knock it out of play a few times, but he was the key man for us on the right hand side in the 1st half, we used to praise Gilbert for getting forward from right back and Neilson did that today very well. Infact looking at both halves together, Neilson was one of the best performers. At fault for all 3 goals. Neilson was a 3-4 in my book for this. We were excellent in the first half but in the second half, Watford simply said 'they're playing a narrow midfield, full backs and wingers, stay wide and spread it'. And we did not decide to go for a flat 4 until it was 2-2. Then they had too much momentum. I like the diamond when we're after a goal, but my goodness it exposes us when teams are looking to attack us.

Hi guys im a Hearts fan who came on here to find out what you all thought of Neilson.I find this thread pretty funny because it could have been taken straight from any Hearts messageboards. He is a guy that completely splits opinion. In general he is a pretty solid defender but he has very little natural ability. If he is going to be a regular starter you better get used to him taking 3 touches to control the ball then try and play a long ball up the line but slice it about 20 rows into the stand.
Jfox Posted 23 September 2009 Posted 23 September 2009 Wellens has got to be at least an 8, he does so much in the midfield even the stuff you don't notice, until you lose him, and boy did we miss him when he went off. Also Neilson was at fault for 2 goals and Morrison should get a chance. And someone else needs to start scoring other than Fryatt, try him with someone else up front, or play 3 up?
