lou Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/leicest...ire/8407988.stm Sounds like they were lucky not to have serious injuries... hope all concerned are ok
Ford Super Sunday Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 From the Mercury Just before the incident, the bus was in Tigers Way and turned right into Lancaster Road when it hit the overhead mainline railway bridge.A taxi driver who was following the bus said when he saw it go to turn right he sounded his horn to attract the driver’s attention, but the bus carried on and hit the bridge. Seems he didn't realise the bus was too tall for the bridge...
hairy Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 From the MercurySeems he didn't realise the bus was too tall for the bridge... Or he was too busy looking around him to see who was papping their horn at him
lou Posted 11 December 2009 Author Posted 11 December 2009 There must have been signs further down the road about the height of the bridge, its not the fault of the taxi driver. Sounds like a total lack of concentration I hope the kids are ok anyway
Monk Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Apparently the bus was full of kids from Nottingham. <Refrains self from making distasteful joke>
Wycombe Fox Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 DMU will try anything to get these bridges taken down Looks like the children were very lucky.
