Lillehamring Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 i'm pretty sure there is a thread elsewhere but seeing as one can't search either 'blu' or 'ray', i couldn't find one.... anyway, budget: few hundred upto but hopefully well well short of £500 requirements: best quality for value, not too fussed about brand or design, ideally one that will work nicely for music, so good sound tv: Sony bravia 32S3000 any suggestions will be welcomed.
z-layrex Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 A PS3 or this Samsung player: on Amazon It's affordable, and gets great Firmware support. The worst thing you can do is buy a poorly supported make as it just wont receive the updates it needs. I believe you can even access Youtube on it. I was going to get this, but got a PS3 instead as there's a few games on it I wanted.

Shouldn't you go for a Sony one to ensure compatibility and reducing any potential support problems like it's not our fault?

Legend_in_blue Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 I was looking into this about a 6 months ago. You can get a decent one for around £250. Make sure you go for one with BD live. Looks like they're cheaper now! Make sure you go for a Sony or Panasonic blu-ray player.
