Zingari Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Thinking of going this year.But ive heard theres a good side and a bad side of the island.Bearing in mind i have 2 kids who need entertaining, any info would be much appreciated.. not really good and bad sides , but north is less commercialised with bigger residential towns , (peurta del la cruz is quite popular for tourists though , with a massive aquapark ) and it tends to be cloudier due to the geography of the place south is more commercial and most uk flights seem to go there now , los cristanos is ok for families (but it is about 15 years since i've been ) would prefer lanzarote personally

From what I remember (was wasted majority of it) there is a quiet side of Playa De Las Americas, which catered more for family, but best to stay away from Veronica's at night, get's very rowdy

Blimey, that place used to get rammed til about 6/7am. Though, like I say, it's been about 10 years since I last went. Loved Lanzarote as well and would highly recommend that as a really nice family holiday.

Still had a cracking time though, from what I can remember.

I agree, me and a friend got jumped by a load of moroccans after our money we both ended up in hospital needing stitches after being glassed. Wrong place at the wrong time i suppose

Actually that might have been near one the birds on the street flogging tickets, It's all a blur.

Didn't hear about the reputation of the place until after it happened.
Cal Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 I went in September, its alright tbh. Veronicas is quite mad, wasnt extremely busy when I went but still really good. Loads of Chinese and African street seller people though!

My mate tried to steal one of those vibrating rats off one of the Chinese street sellers and got karate kicked to the floor was the highlight of the holiday for me
