Ric Flair Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 Not seen much of this lad, but apparently he's available for around £100,000. He plays for Kilmarnock and has scored 18 goals this season in 28 starts I believe. He's only 21 and I know we were linked with him a month or so ago. He might be more of a realistic target than Miller. He scored 5 against Dundee United earlier this season!!! 2 goals in a match from one player would be nice, but 5!!! Sounds promising.
L1 BOYZ Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 But so did De Vries before Another scottish signing! WOW
filbertway Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 But so did De Vries beforeAnother scottish signing! WOW 109388 How constructive , never heard of him before. 100k is a big risk to take.
Alexikokopops Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 But so did De Vries beforeAnother scottish signing! WOW 109388 I don't see what's the problem with "another Scottish signing!" (I assume you mean from the Scottish league, not another Scottish player since we've only signed one). You bring up De Vries, but look at Hughes and Maybury. Could turn out to be quite handy.
L1 BOYZ Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 Another waste of money! No, no and no. We wil end up with Scotalnd B! Scotland A r bad enuf

L1 BOYZ Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 Yep notheing special tho. Tommy Wrights standards he luks like to me
Muz Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 When did you see him play? And i doubt Tommy Wright would score 18 goals in any league.

BartonFox Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 Yet another well educated and knowledgeable individual <_<
L1 BOYZ Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 He aint bin given the chanec Saw him play for them last year when I went upto Scotland for a weekend. They were playing Aberdeen that game
Ric Flair Posted 16 May 2005 Author Posted 16 May 2005 Yet another well educated and knowledgeable individual <_< 109428 BF you know a fair bit about scottish football. Is Boyd the business or just having a decent season? I've noticed he's scored 48 goals in about 80 starts for Kilmarnock, which isn't bad is it? For £100,000 we could do alot worse especially at 21, he's got plenty of years on his side.
Muz Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 So you are going to judge someone on one game? Tommy Wright does not do it in the reserves , he did not do it at Brentford he is not good enough.

Let me guess you went one of the times he didn't score didn't you? Fool

He has also stated it is his desire to play down South soon and has acknowledgeed the CCC might be about his level ATM. The reason neither the Old Scum are not sniffing round is he plays for an unfashionable club they only usually raid the East coast for players. For 100K I'd have the punt, he's a big lad and to score 18 goals at that level is a fairly good return for a young player. Trouble is, we have de Vries and Dublin vying for the 'big man' role next season and I don't see CL thinking we have a need for another. I would imagine CL is looking for a player of Connolly like stature but with pace and directness about his game.
