leftsideoverhere Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Whatever happened to AG Kemble of Wigston who used to supply the music (think that was the name!) They closed about ten years ago! The rise of HMV, Virgin and online music stores did for them. They weren't alternative enough to survive a price war. The shop now sells fridges and microwaves.
Fosse Boy Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Fans should be making the noise before the game, not the tannoy. Don't get me wrong, I always have a few tunes on my iPod that get me up for football, but once I'm in the ground I don't need music to get me worked up before kick off. As a nipper before I really grasped the concept of sponsorship, it used to confuse the shit out of my why they played the same songs every week and then thanked so and so shop for supplying the music today. Always wondered why they didnt just use the same tapes they'd used a fortnight ago. Asked my dad once and he called me a thick twat.
Ozwin Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 What was the U2 song that they used to play before the game? And Keep the Faith - Bon Jovi used to be a regular too didn't it? I've probably just made these up in my head havn't I?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 I rememer hearing that song many times at Filbert Street before the match. Seems a long time since I have heard that. Love to have it back.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 For a few bizarre weeks around 2000, Babybird's 'Bad Old Man' was one of the songs played in the run up to kick off, notable only for mentioning drowning a stepson in a duck pond, wet dreams and paedophiles. Never caught on as a terrace anthem
