John Higgins takes match fixing bribes

Lets be honest, we all would have done the same. It's only snooker.

Errr no we wouldn't, well I wouldn't. If I was in his position, with that amount of talent and the bank balance he already has, I would personally not risk my career for a betting scam.

sad. i like higgins, what a silly boy

not exactly match fixing though - not a decent thing to do, but its not like it would effect anything important, four frames over four games, the only real losers are the bookies

I'm shocked by this, somebody in his position and his form doesn't need match fix. This lends me to think that it happens everywhere.

Sort of agree with this but it does bring into question the integrity of the game.

Anything to fvck over the bookies is fine by me - bastards have taken more than enough off me.

(all betting has been suspending on the Irish Premier League due to suspicious betting lol)

I'm still trying to keep an open mind - which admittedly is tough after watching the video. He's been invited into an area of the hotel he was staying in and brought his manager with him which in itself is slightly odd as the manager shouldn't need to be in on it unless he was behind the meeting?. Unless he is in massive financial debt maybe due to gambling or something, one must pose the question, "why would a multi-millionaire need 261K?" which obviously would risk his career, status and reputation? The video is massively edited - there will be a reason for this. We do not see the pre-amble, the circumstances which they were initially approached or the bits of the interview which may have questioned resistance to any proposal.

Why oh why though did he not mention this to somebody from the snooker authority to cover his back? He maybe thought it would go away as during the interview he was told that he would not hear from the people again and that it would be up to him to give them the nod at a time when he would "throw" a frame - which means he still had the control to prevent it from happening.

I reckon any one of us could be interviewed and then the film edited to make us look bad.

I actually believe that despite the current evidence, which looks damning, he will be cleared.

Just my opinion.

He looks so terrified in the video

Add to that his manager had THREE meetings prior to the one in the video regarding the deal to throw frames, some of which were not even in the Ukraine and they are bang to rights.

And what a plonker, he was made for life and now he will end up driving a mini cab or flipping burgers :appl:
