Babylon Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 I would say "this should be a wake up call to English football yadda yadda yadda", but of course it won't be. Someone needs to go under to make it happen... ridiculous really!!
Dames Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 It's almost all sorted now. It's no surprise, the support we've had from fans; both our own, and those of other clubs, has been tremendous. Thank you so much for your support, it means so much The ground is sorted, the club is sorted, and the CPFC 2010 Consortium are expected to be the owners of the club by the end of the week. Thanks guys =) Glad to hear it although tbh i always knew they weren't going to go bust.
Guest Bilo Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Great news. Looking forward to the away day there and hope the club can be sorted for good.
Fosse Boy Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Someone needs to go under to make it happen... ridiculous really!! And not just anyone, it would have to be a big club for people to take note. But... A big club would never go under because it's not in the interest of the governing bodies, leagues, sponsors, media etc. for their most marketable "brands" (hate using that word in reference to football) to go out of business. So your Man Uniteds, Liverpools et al will always be allowed to bend the rules, get extra deadlines, find buyers because they're too important to the bank balances of too many people at the top of the tree to be allowed to go bust. Whereas Palace, Portsmouth, Stockport, Salisbury City - who are they? They'll never shift millions of replica shirts in Kyoto, so sod them. ...thus the vicious cycle continues.
Alexikokopops Posted 3 June 2010 Posted 3 June 2010 so it would be a 23 team championship next year and then extra promotion spaces in L1 and down the pyramid? Not that it matters now, but my understanding was that it would have been a 23 team Championship with just two relegation places. All the other leagues would stay the same. its playing record shall not be expunged but the number of relegation places from the Division in which a Club would have played but for its cessation of membership, shall be reduced by the number of Clubs ceasing to be members
