henry's best mate Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 even tho he was our best player last season, i feel we need to get rid of danny tiatto to progress as a club. we could find a new player who would add much more to the team and contribute to helping the club move forward. We should get rid opf him whilst we can still get money (even if it isn't that much) for him. we could get a player from a lower division on much lower wages, which would save the club money.
Leicesterboi Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 He's a good experienced versatile player so we can still get the best out of him for another year atleast.

hinds12 Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 i still think tiatto can give us one more good season. also he is experianced which is good as we seem to be releasing are experianced players and getting in some youngsters without experiance.

IT WON'T HAPPEN!!
supedaj Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 Hello everyone! I dont think Tiatto should be out really. He's a solid, committed player and can lift the team when they're not really performing. Players see him put in 110% and they respond too. I've seen several matches where Tiatto has covered every blade of grass for the team. He is one of the only players from our current crop who shows spirit and determination and with the league being even harder this year his experience and enthusiasm will be important for us. He does get booked for silly tackles sometimes but thats part and parcel of him as a whole - take that away and you have half of what he is. With the influx of youth into the club we will definitely need a few older heads to help steady the ship when times are difficult. However, one thing i would change is that he should switch back to Left Back. He is NOT a winger and can barely run past players - his crossing isnt that great either. Why CL is keeping him on the left wing is beyond me - maybe for coming inside and adding a bite to the field? If so, the arrival of Kisnorbo should releive CL of that. Stewart is more of a winger - his crosses (well a percentage of them anyway) are of better quality and most people can see he lacks defensive skills. Tiatto comes inside quite a lot allowing Stewart to roam forward where possible but it doesnt always work. Switching these two around will add much needed steel to the defence and allow Stewart the freedom to move forward without thinking too much about tracking back all the time. Anyway, I may have drifted a little - my main point was is that Tiatto is definitely one for this coming season - he can do a sterling job at this level - whether it remains as a winger is debatable...
Cobbo Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 Welcome to Foxestalk supedaj, stick around I think we should definately hold on to Tiatto, I know he has the problem of not keeping his position but he does add that bit of commitment to the team. Certainly worth being part of our squad.
Scow Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 I don't agree with the idea of Tiatto at left back. Unfortunately, he is a bit of a liability there, mainly because he commits himself far too easily and is a little rash. Tiatto's best position IMO would be in the centre of midfield, but he'll continue to play on the left side as we have no better options currently. Stewart is certainly not a winger, as his crossing is woeful for the large part. He lacks composure on the ball, and his 'head down' approach means his final product is often giving the ball away.

Sir Fynwy Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 I for one would not be unhappy to see Tiatto move on, he is a commited player but doesn't bring any real quality to the team, he also gets booked every match which means that he sits out too many games due to suspensions.
supedaj Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 I doubt CL will put Tiatto in central mid - he's bought Kisnorbo for that area. I agree in that sense - a ball winner in front of the back four will do wonders and he seems equipped for it. However, I just dont see CL putting him there. As for Stewart, he may be a poor crosser but he's not very good at defending either. I would take his crossing over his tackling/marking any day...
Chimp Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 I always thought Tiatto's most natural position would be as a sweeper...

How many times have you seen him perform last ditch tackles with strikers clear through on goal when the likes of Heath and Dabizas have messed up? His pace is an asset in the backline, and he has become more defensively aware. However, I don't believe Stewart is the long term answer at left back.
C-man Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 I always thought Tiatto's most natural position would be as a sweeper... 111478[/snapback] What? sweeping the roads? If he played sweeper he'd be sent off for being the last man every time he went in for a tackle

So, why not let him have the freedom to roam the pitch in front of the back line? He's good at disrupting the opposition play an intercepting passes, why not play him in a position that suits his style of play if it can be accomodated in the formation?
