Matt Posted 27 June 2010 Posted 27 June 2010 Are professional referees allowed to watch highlights/stand out decisions/dubious decisions, e.t.c during half-time e.t.c? Just wondering after the England disallowed goal. Not that it makes any difference, Not that i'm that bothered really just wondered if they were and what must go through their minds when making such a fuck up. Or did the Ukrainian referee do a good job today
poopbutt Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 would be nice if the goalie knew it was over that they would score an og on purpose for fair play reasons. if ony it was 1910 and not 2010
The Doctor Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 tbh i think he did see it during half time. You look at the rather soft free kicks the ref was giving to england at the start of the second half - i think he was trying to atone for his error. But your players either a) didn't spot this or b) were too honest to exploit it. Once he'd started giving soft free kicks england should have been pinging the ball into the box and going down under every challenge, trying to get the ref to stay in keeping with his desicions and give a very soft penalty. Similarly when milner hit that shot which was blocked by boateng all the england players should have been claiming handball and again using the seeds of doubt over his on performance in the refs mind to their advantage.

leicester1993 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 All of the top grounds have a TV in the changing room for the referee- he can choose to watch the coverage at half time (although i doubt he would) or he can wait and watch the DVD at the end of the game (this is more likely). And odds are he was told it went in by one of the broadcasting companies in the tunnel at half time. Hope this answers your question
