Clive Redman Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 Steve Walsh talks about City's first two games, what he's made of Paulo Sousa, the Birch saga and the takeover... On City's defending so far this season... "Tuesday night’s 4-3 victory over Macclesfield Town was a true Jekyll and Hyde performance from City. Going forward, we looked sensational at times, with Steve Howard, Matty Fryatt and Dany N’Guessan all causing them problems. The problem was they were doing the same to us at the other end. Jack Hobbs was below-par and his partners, debutant Moreno and latterly, Michael Morrison, couldn’t halt the threat from a League Two strikeforce, which was worrying to say the least. "I felt that from set-pieces, where we had looked solid last season, we seemed to struggle to mark our men and compete for the ball. We were often second to the ball, which I really hope isn’t a reflection of the squad’s fitness. "I’ve seen Paulo Sousa’s men in action twice now, against Sunderland and Macclesfield and saw the TV highlights of the defeat at Crystal Palace. In that time we have conceded eight goals. Last season, including the pre-season friendly against Real Valladolid, it took eleven games for us to concede our eighth goal, which occurred in the 3-3 draw at Watford on Saturday September 19th." HonradaRaposa Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 Does anyone care what Walsh has to say? Who is he now, it's a decade since he left, what does he do to warrant such a mouthpiece?
haraven Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 He has a fair point, and I am prett sure it will be corrected since Sousa was managing a resilient team last season, but as for to listen to Walshy - of course I do, he was one of the legends of the 90s when I really got into Leicester City - and he cares about the club just as much as any other fan.
ArnarGunnlaugsson Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 Does anyone care what Walsh has to say? Who is he now, it's a decade since he left, what does he do to warrant such a mouthpiece? He's a Leicester City legend, a rareity in football in the last 20 years - a player that sticks around through the good and bad and then becomes a fan of the club. He has some ties to LCFC, he works there matchdays but also with grass roots football with his own Academy with Muzzy. I think he can speak with some insight more than most former pro's from City in the last decade. God, theres been some crap ... Would you rather hear what Josh Low has got to say?
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 Does anyone care what Walsh has to say? Who is he now, it's a decade since he left, what does he do to warrant such a mouthpiece? You don't have to read it you know.
Corky Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 I disagree with Walshy on Moreno, who looked very assured and in control on Tuesday. Other than that he's pretty much correct.
HonradaRaposa Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 You don't have to read it you know. I didn't. I've had the misfortune of hearing him as a radio pundit and he was dreadful at that. I notice the clamour for his involvement in the backroom setup wasn't around when Pearson left, unlike previous regime changes, I wonder why?

Heskey2011 Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 Walshey's made a good point there, i thought Swansea were solid at the back last season, very organised and i was hoping that would continue with us this year, worrying amount of goals conceded, Love Chris Weale but looked well below par at Rotherham, i went and we could have conceded 4 or 5 if it wasn't for Rotherham's dire finishing. Also loosing Nobby, he organised the younger guys well, not going to miss Wayne Brown mind! Steve Walsh play-off Legend, he's up there with Lineker and Shilton in my eyes done more than most for our club.
