Arsenal FC

Has anyone else noticed that Arsenal FC seem to be really slow to make what looks like a straight forward signing.

For example the Mark Schwarzer debacle rumbles on and on giving Almunia the hump and not going down too well with Hughes at Fulham either.

The Schwarzer deal can hardly be a massive one and you would think a team of the stature of Arsenal would just go in and get it done within a couple of days, so why dont they?

Seems counter productive.

They are scratching around Europe for a centre half also, yet let Gallas walk away on a free and made little effort to keep him.

Wenger's too stubborn with transfers. Everyone can see they need a keeper. Altho he is finally trying to resolve the situation, it's 2 years late.

At least with Wenger being sensible in the transfer market it means Arsenal are one of the few clubs actually turning a profit.

He's probably just trying not get mugged off for a 37-year-old goalkeeper. They'll probably settle at around £3 million in the end I reckon, sounds about right if he's got a couple of seasons left in him.

I agree it's nice to see at least one major club not hocking itself up to high heaven, but 8 years and no trophy.surely there is a happy medium somewhere in the middle?

Their stadium announcer only saying the fist names of scorers sounds naff as well....

It's good if the crowd actually shout loud enough like they do in Germany or Turkey but I agree at The Emirates it's embarrassing.

I remember when they did it at The Walkers, cringe.

Has it been 8 years?!

Wenger won't just instantly meet Fulham's asking price, he'll offer something below and try and get the club a good deal. He's been known to take deals to the deadline day and I am sure this one will be no different.

Fa Cup was in 2004, meant to put 6 years sorry.

Although 6 or 8 I cant help feeling if Arsenne was just a little more aggressive and definite in getting in just a little experience from outside the Arsenal squad they would have won something in the last 6 years.

The FA Cup was in 2005. They won the League in 2004 when they beat Leicester at Highbury on the last day to complete the unbeaten season.

So it's 5 years. Still 5 or 6 years is still a long time for a club of Arsenals size not to have won any kind of trophy.
