The Attraction Of Coventry

Recommended Posts

King attended Saturday's win against Derby at the Ricoh Arena with his family and agent, Tony Finnigan, spacer.gif who believes the prospect of linking up again with Boothroyd makes Coventry his most likely destination.

Special relationship

"It's very important to be able to work with somebody you trust on and off the pitch," he told the Coventry Telegraph.

"Marlon and Aidy had a very special relationship and that's definitely a big factor - the biggest factor.

"I remember the journey at Watford very well; it was a wonderful, wonderful period and I'm sure he'd love to rekindle that.

"The guy wants to play some football and be part of something special and Coventry ticks all those boxes," Finnigan added.

"I was really, really impressed. We kept saying in the box 'look at this place - the stadium, the facilities, the crowd'."

What fooking crowd lol

It makes sense that King wants to go to Cov as he belongs in the stone age and they're all a bunch of cave dwellers

You're not wrong. They were the worst fans to visit the Walkers last season considering they sold out.

Can only assume the Barmy Army had laryngitis that day.

Really surprised about that, Coventry is only 25 miles further than Leicester, and I'm sure the Shaggers will bring 3k to our place.

Unless of course Derby's attitude to the fixture is similar to ours, that it isn't worth £25 for under 22s when the majority of other clubs in the division give age related or student discounts.

I can't imagine it's just us who can see what a woeful away day it is.

Still though....to keep numbers under 800 people is a great effort as far as boycotting overpriced stadiums go.

Doubt it is though, I'm sure close to 3,000 will still make the trip, being our nearest away match.
