milan_foxes Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Until the 6th of November our Away games are as follows... Saturday, Sept 11th - Coventry - 12:30 Tuesday, Sept 21st - Portsmouth (CUP) - 7:45 Friday, Sept 25th - Portsmouth - 7:45 Tuesday, Sept 28th - Norwich - 7:45 Tuesday, Oct 19th - Leeds - 7:45 Monday, Oct 25th - Swansea - 7:45 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's the next six away games, and none of them are a 3pm kick-off on a Saturday. (Ok Cov isn't that bad but it's still too early!) It wouldn't be that bad if the games that are a late kick-off were at a ground not too far away but all of these are at least 2 hours due to rush hour. I just don't see the need in playing matches on Tuesdays at 7:45? and if there's a need then why a team so far away? I'm on strike, i'm not going to go to any of these!
1964FOX Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I must be a tw&t as I intend to go to all of these, hadn't realised they were all in such an annoying row. Only consolation is that the coach will drop us back at the pub about 3pm after the Cov match.

J.Lisemore Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I'm just fed up of forking out money to the club at the minute. Although i'll be going Norwich away, and even thats only because i have a friend i havent seen in a while down there.

I'm on strike, i'm not going to go to any of these! not enough saturdays in season to fit in league and cup fixtures. And when the fixtures are drawn they can't organise it so that midweek games are all local - not feasible with some teams stuck at the arse end of nowhere (plymouth, carlisle etc.) for instance who would portsmouth play in a midweek game if they were all localish?

Well three of them are SKY or Police decisions....two are league games with Norwich being a bit crap but Leeds is doable and the other is a cup game which is luck. The answer to your question whilst I agree in principle and believe teams should play no further than 100 miles on a midweek from their home ground. The clubs wouldn't want to lose a derby game onto a midweek...they'd lose loads of money and the Police would charge them a fortune.

Palace?
The Doctor Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 hmm.... Palace? but would they not then be playing one of the other london teams or possibly reading/watford? It's all too complicated and really doesn't have much, if any, effect.

Barnsley v Doncaster Bristol v Reading Burnley v Preston Cardiff v Swansea Coventry v Leicester Crystal P. v Portsmouth Derby v Notts Forest Hull v Middlesboro' Ipswich v Norwich Leeds v Sheff Utd Millwall v QPR Only teams that aren't there, are Scun*horpe and Watford.
