shen Posted 22 May 2005 Posted 22 May 2005 I broke my wrist in 2 places during a footie game at school 6 years ago. I was sprinting for a ball against a guy a few years above me and much faster, but I wanted to show off. We were shoulder to shoulder before I stumbled over a rock on the asphalt pitch. I landed awkwardly, and my arm got stuck between my hip and the asphalt. Went around with a green (!) cast for 7 weeks, and it still hurts when I do sudden movements with my hand Or it could be the time in East-Germany when I was 6 years old and went down a hill on a sled without having ever tried it. I didn't know how to steer it and crashed into a big tree. I was running away in shock, crying and jumped through a barbed wire fence and had a huge 2 inch deep wound in my thigh. Am sporting a big scar on my inner thigh this day today Oh and they didn't have any anasthaetic in those days in the East, so I just had the nurses hand to clench during the whole op. certainly was the most traumatic of them ...
Anish Posted 22 May 2005 Posted 22 May 2005 When I was 13 I broke my arm playing football at one of LCFC's summer camps. It was a bad day to break it because there was a scout who saw me in action and wanted to sign me for his local team until I did that! I was in cast for about 5/6 weeks and unfortunately I broke my left arm (and I'm left handed) so I had to learn to write with my right hand for a while!
porter01 Posted 22 May 2005 Posted 22 May 2005 dislocated my knee! only done it 2 weeks ago and ive still got it in a splint now didnt hurt too much bit its put me off playin football again
Jonbluefox9 Posted 22 May 2005 Posted 22 May 2005 The worst injury I've had is a hernia. Hurt more after the operation than it did before. I was supposed to do no exercise for a month afterwards including one week off from school but after two weeks I started playing football again and it lead to other injuries, one that sounds a bit like what Macca had. Felt like a permanent dead leg and I could barely lift it. My stomach still hurts now if I do too much exercise or if I stretch for something suddenly.
FNQ Posted 22 May 2005 Posted 22 May 2005 My ribs! 113250[/snapback] lol To be fair, It's common knowledge that krauts bruise like peaches.
toonboy Posted 22 May 2005 Posted 22 May 2005 The only bone i have broken was one of my toes but that was by hitting it against a wall. Couple of years ago my dad broke both bones in his leg playing rugby and you could see the bone sticking out. He had loads of operations and a steel pin put in and stuff and now has a big bit of muscle from his back on his leg which he can't feel or anything. Glad i wasn't there to see it because i have been told it was a bit sickening.
