Singing last night

Recommended Posts

Posted

I was stood (yes stood!!) at the back of the kop last night and a couple of chants were going on that I hadn't heard before that were really quite brilliant.

Chanting Gallagher to the tune of Karma Chameleon and Lloyd will tear you apart to the tune of Love will Tear us apart were fantastic.

However when the chant of 'Leicester Library' went up, it felt very uncomfortable. I'm all for singing at the games and love what The Fosse Boys are trying to get going, but basically singing a chant that's having a pop at your own fans just didnt sit right.

And why are people singing, 'Iwan is a welshman'?

All with rattles and dummies, how cringe worthy are some people, not to mention embarrassing, imagine standing sitting next to that lot....

Our fans sounded dreadful.

WBA fans were loud and class. It was embarassing!

If WBA was in our position I guarantee there fans would have been dreadful

(all 6 of them).......................

That 'wanna go home, this is a shitehole' song is rank and used by everyone. It's all the fools them considering where they live.

Exactly, they would go a long way to find a bigger shithole than West Bromwich, the majority of them come from bedsits in fooking Tipton.

had to register because im quite shocked how some of the fans on here said we were poor last night. i thought we were great. credit to the guys who sat in the corner right by us because they were the only leicester fans we could hear. but after the third went in they were a bit deflated.

What were you expecting from our support when only half the ground was open?

I have no issue with the volume of your support, of course you were loud at times, we gave you an unprecedented amount of tickets and had to move you into a different stand to fit you all in.

But we have clubs come here and their supporters sing for near enough ninety minutes, Leeds spring immediately to mind but they're far from the only ones. Cardiff were pretty good in the first leg of the play-off semis and I will NEVER forget the sound of "one nil and you fucked it up" from the Sheff Wednesday support the year we went down.

Every other week the corner that's away over to the left of where you were sitting is bouncing, there are some good fans in this division and there were some good ones when we dropped to League One as well, to be fair. Your lot sung in short bursts after the first and second goal but generally speaking that was it.

:dunno:

I sat in A2 last night and can vouch for His comments. Though were otsung by A1 untill they regained the lead.

Didn't hear a thing from the Kop all night ... Sorry

ahhh you would be 1 of the 5,000 in the kop that only sung for around 3minutes when we scored......i was really pissed off with our support last night.... there was around 20 of us that sung all the way through the match even at 4-1 down!! i thought we were supposed to get behind the team that we are ALL meant to SUPPORT??

And another thing when the 3rd goal went in i couldnt believe the amount of fans people that got up and walked out.. FFS guys cmon

Most definitely, life isn't fair when you lucky buggers can wake up, pull open the curtains and gasp as you take in cosmopolitan Smethwick and the grand architecture of Tipton. I've always wanted to live in a prefab with industrial slurry in my back garden.

Boing fooking Boing!

Where's the enjoyment though if there's no atmosphere? That's the whole point of going really. That's what makes live football different to watching games on the TV.

I also take pride in my club, but I can't be proud of it when no one gets behind it. It's embarrassing to be associated with some 'supporters'.

For what its worth I thought your support was decent last night in terms of numbers, didn't hear any songs from you lot for Joe Mattock though? whats your views on your 3rd choice left back?

That boing boing thing makes me **** cringe and Karljonh is right there is nowhere in this country or probably even the world that is such a shit hole as west bromwich. I never go there anymore and I live in Warwickshire. I go and pay on the toll road to avoid the dump!

I like wba fans, thought they were superb last night. I've got a few mates who are WBA fans, and they constantly ram their chants into my head at college, was good to hear them on a big scale.

I was more shocked at the fans booing Gallagher when he clapped the fans. That was in the kop.

Everyone knows that the Walkers will never have an atmosphere where the stadium is a cauldron of noise. Its not going to happen week in week out, but we should respect the fact that fans just want to watch the game, At least they go to the game, and push the attendance numbers up. (And before I get jumped on, Im not dissing anyone that doesnt go to a game, I mean the fact they go to watch the games)

I'm tired about the mocking of our support now by our own fans. I personally stand at the Top of K block near the drum, and sing like mad every game. But its getting boring, we get it every week. Lets all move on and moan about something else, I'd rather read a thread on how, someones disgusted that their half-time cheeseburger tasted like charcoal, or how they were short-changed for a pint.

I wanna go home, I wanna go home, this is a shithole, I want to go home. Iwan is a welshman is simply one of the best chants ever. We're not the only club that sings about former players.

my boss is a baggies fan thats the only reason i know the song actually is leicesters a shit hole smeliks our home(smelik being the smelik stand at the hawthornes)

Support is paying to go to football a match, that's what I do, and have been doing from 1970 - to date.

I don't and have never sung along with the morons who choose to do that type of thing. It make's me cringe to see fat unshaven, stink breath's slurring les-sir les-sir les-sir les-sir sounding like they have serious brain damage!!!

Why do they all suddenly go dumb and all Neanderthal for 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon? (I have never figured that one out)

Support your club by clapping and cheering, that's all that's needed.

Infact what would be ideal is to record it all from a ground like liverpool or even stoke and play it through the speakers, good atmosphere, Crowd noises, goal cheers, proper singing, without the bad language and stupidness, of course this will have to be properly edited and include people with good diction singing :scarf: "Leicester"...:scarf:

Yes I will pat myself on the back that is one heck of a good idea.....:appl:

WBA - Up there in terms of away support, weak away from home. Common knowledge really.

Also why people even hope for atmsophere in games like this i'll never know, If Man City had beaten WBA last round and visited us, then yes noise. But West brom, no chance.

Why would you pray to the god you don't believe in ?

The same reason why you croak your woeful "songs" that nobody is remotely intrested in I presume....

Pointless person.....

Missed out on this discussion till now as I went to watch Villa against Burnley last night, went in the Burnley endwithmy mate.

On the point of Leicester Library, the member of the group who began to sing this was advised and stopped it, there was also another attempt at a chant to dig at our quieter fans and I put a stop to it. My expectation is that we sing too encourage other fans to join us with pro Leicester songs. There are numerous Leicester fans that come to the match and will sit all game and not sing. That is there right and those of us who wish to sing need to respect that right. There are also hundreds of fans who will sing if the atmosphere gets going, these are the fans we need to encourage. The Walkers does nothing to help with atmosphere but we can be loud and create some noise if we get the potential singers on side.

With regards to the Iwan chant, it's just one of those songs that caught on and carried on long after the player left, no he wasn't one of our all time greats but the song is, most people know it and it brings back memories of good times so I think it will last a few years to come.

I agree we could do with some new songs about current players but they need to be simple and easy to remember such as 'Lloyd will tear you apart again' for them to catch on. There will be games with good and bad atmospheres and we as Fosse Boys will continue to attempt to improve the noise level at each and every game.

I would like all Leicester fans to respect and appreciate us for the way we support our team and in return we will appreciate all other Leicester fans for the way they choose to support our team. Please notice the common words 'our team' the greatest team there is, who we ALL support.

COME ON LEICESTER.
