Two possibilities for me.

1/ Ancelotti has someone else lined up and wanted rid.

2/ They realized he might be able to translate Italian but his coaching skills are pony.

I'll go for 2.

No doubt he will pop up somewhere with his old mukka Dennis poisoned Dwarf Wise somewhere in the near future. And I pity the fans who have to suffer them.
