Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn, Leicester City's new executive director, has said slashing ticket prices for the club's Fans' Fixture was a reward for the Blue Army's loyal support.

Aiyawatt, who heads up the club's new majority shareholders, Asia Football Investments, said he had been impressed with the club's following in recent weeks and believes electric atmospheres in the Walkers Stadium will help manager Sven-Goran Eriksson and his players to mount a promotion challenge.

Ticket prices have been greatly reduced for the visit of Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, December 11. Season ticket- holders can buy additional adult tickets for £6, under-18s for £4 and under-eights for £1 or free in the Family Stand with a paying adult.

For non season ticket-holders, tickets are £10, £5 and £1.

Aiyawatt said: "Our supporters are the lifeblood of our great club and we wanted to give this modest thank-you for their overwhelming support and loyalty to Leicester City. The atmosphere within the Walkers Stadium for the 2-0 win over Derby County was electric. I, like everyone else associated with Leicester City Football Club, want every game to be as close to that as possible, if not better. "Hopefully, the Fans' Fixture is a chance to fill the stadium for another memorable day.

"We want to return City to the Premier League and to achieve this we need good performances and results on the field, and great support off the field.

"There is no doubt in my mind that we have shown recent signs of improvement, and that we can work collectively to accomplish our goals.

"The Fans' Fixture is just one of many initiatives we are keen to implement for the benefit of our supporters in the coming months."

Eriksson said the players needed the backing of the supporters if they are to challenge for the play-offs. The supporters made a real difference against Derby and the players and staff were very grateful for that," he said. "Now we need to try to make the Walkers Stadium special for every game, starting with the next home match against Nottingham Forest, and then the Fans' Fixture against Doncaster Rovers.

"Since I joined the club, the fans have been marvellous and I hope that our recent form has been at least a small reward for their terrific support.

"However, we have a great deal of hard work ahead and will need their help and backing throughout, so we need to fill the stadium for the Fans' Fixture and get three points."

That speaks volumes for how they intend to run this club imo, they walk the walk and are actually showing they value us, unlike Mandy who does a lot more talking and a lot less walking.

Not that they didn't offer this last season *cough plymouth cough* when Watty was still behind a desk in Bangkok and had never heard of Leicester City.

This is hardly a 'reward', it was more the people looking at the ticket sales for Doncaster and thinking 'oh my jesus that's not many sold at all'

I don't think it says that at all, this was done in the pre/early Mandaric days it's nothing new. I suspect they felt it wasn't needed as much, from a business perspective in the previous two relatively successful seasons.

They're obviously concerned that the gate will be well below the 20k what with Christmas on the horizon, make no mistake this is purely a business initiative.

I'm currently skint and this for me is perfect as i've not been able to get to a single game yet this season due to financial issues, so i'm really looking forward to this.

It's also pretty disgusting that we're charging the Doncaster fans the full £26 for this game, when home fans can get in for £6-£10.

.............**** em all................

Fairly sure the football league limits the number of these offers you can run in one season for this reason
