scatdoctor Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Once the game had started and they took the lead he was under further pressure to keep the game going. Shame the ref didn't grow a pair and either not play it in the first place or when the pitch disappeared call it off! Other way round and Keane would have been screaming from the sidelines - Sven is way too polite!! Could you imagine a Neil Warnock side? They would be sliding over on purpose, faking injuries. Not to mention how much he would moan.
stockyfox Posted 20 December 2010 Author Posted 20 December 2010 If the game didn't go ahead because of the Ref then you'd probably be trying to get compensation for the price of wasted train tickets, hotel, etc... Move on Let's be clear on one or two points. 1. I am absolutely fed up to the back teeth with the general incompetence and inconsistency displayed by so many of today's referees. 2. Saturday's farce was in my opinion, due to a gross abdication of responsibility on the part of officials who allowed peripheral considerations to cloud their judgement. Their first and foremost duty was to have regard for the safety and welfare of the players. 3. There was a callous disregard for this and instead we saw an utter determination to get through to 90 minutes come hell or high water. 4. Earlier that afternoon, a major shopping centre at Brent Cross had been closed after 25 minutes of heavy snow. 5. I do not in any way offer any excuses for what I regarded as another pitiful inept performance on Saturday which was to my mind, an insult to those 500 fans who had braved the elements and heaven knows what else to give the team yet again such fantastic support. (Contrast that with the eighteen Reading fans that went to Derby). 6. We tried to carry on in the same vein that we had produced in the second half last week whereas Ipswich went Route one. It was crude uncultured football played in crude conditions and it worked. Ipswich 'deserved' their victory, they wanted it far more than us. We looked increasingly ragged and despondent. 7. We never looked like scoring. Ipswich tried to help but only managed to head an intended clearance against their post. 8. We rarely do well at Ipswich. In August 2002, a promotion season, we lost 6 – 1 9. By allowing the farce to continue, the referee unnecessarily put players livelihoods at risk. 10. The score at any point in time was totally irrelevant. 11. I do take issue with Houdini Logic's comment re fans seeking compensation etc. Travelling fans take a calculated risk with the weather, traffic hold-ups etc. I remember the 1961 Cup semi-final at Leeds when hundreds of City fans didn't arrive till the 2nd half. 12. Last year, I got to Sheffield before II found out the game at Donny was off. You reassess the situation and do something else. We spent the day in Meadowhall! It also helps to have suitable travel insurance. 13. AND SO TO THE VISIT OF LEEDS! 14. No Vitor and I wonder who else won't be available. 15. I am a fan of Max Gradel and was really disappointed to see him leave. 16. I'm not quite as confident of the future as I was a week ago. Are you?
Houdini Logic Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 1 or 16 Is it just me, or is he talking to himself?
stockyfox Posted 20 December 2010 Author Posted 20 December 2010 1 or 16 I take your point! Well spotted!
themotivator Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 I feel shit when they lose and love it when we win. nobody can do anything about the crap we have to put up with sometimes, unless you want to dance around outside the stadium every game with a **** off sign, and even if you were to do that people would probably care less. i think its great that you care passionately enough about our club to pick apart these situations and debate about them is welcome. I think this one has been covered though. (in this thread, the post match and the 5 pages of "should it have been played of not?")

The great Bill Shankly said 'Football isn't a matter of life or death, it's more important than that'. That's what I feel about Leicester City!

stockyfox Posted 20 December 2010 Author Posted 20 December 2010 What are we actually going to claim for? 1 Wages, 2 Any specialised medical treatment over and above that alredy available, further any other costs that Leicester would normally pay
AoWW Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 What are we actually going to claim for? Pfft, now you're just nit-picking.
DB11 Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 i agree that they should pay compensation but its not going to happen and giving a ref who is a cov fan to ref a leicester game is stupid Well it's not really. Referees can referee any team as long as it's not where they're based. I know of referees who have refereed the team that they support, but they cannot referee Leicester because that's where they're based.
Zingari Posted 21 December 2010 Posted 21 December 2010 What are we actually going to claim for? stress and trauma , it's much more compo friendly than actual injuries
