muzzy1981 Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Right don't worry gonna keep this short........... My main concern is the clubs financial sustainability after Jan, so I am hoping the board are thinking: 1. Due to our poor start to the season and managerial changes it is looking less likely we will go up this season but will have a great chance of next season (I obviously don't expect them to announce this but hope they are thinking it) 2. That they aren't putting pressure on Sven to sign high profile players for commercial reasons 3. Is it sustainable to pay high profile players wages if we don't get promoted 3. That they don't think the Jan transfer window = Promotion Basically don't Bankrupt our beloved club by being impatient!!! Anyone else thinking this or just me?
teblin Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 I think the way we spend may have changed over the last 2 weeks or so. I'd have thought we'll get quality but not big names.
themotivator Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 imminent success or impending doom? neither
crazylegs1984 Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 I don't think they will put all the money in without thinkin of the future at the end of the day they are business men they are here to make money and a good portfolio and a healthly business you know what they say you gotta spend money to make money so let's start spending!
cc_star Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 I just am concerned that the owners are loaning the money to the club, by the time they're done we could owe them £100m and be facing bankruptcy and have nothing to show for it except for a very rich manager getting richer & load of premier league bench-warmers on too big a salary to sell.

Glad someone shares my concern, someone stated previously you have to spend money to make money, never really rated that as a saying in business and in particulary football. Some of the most succesfull teams who have got into the prem haven't spent vast amounts of money but have worked hard with what they have got. Blackpool. I just hope we have a contingency plan if we don't get promoted, I'm sure we have but other clubs have had investors leave them in the shit, so don't want it to happen to us
Kingy_85 Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Such doom & gloom. A while ago our biggest signings were Rab Douglas & Peter Canero. Lets try and be positive. Its a very hard league this year, the strongest its been in years, so lets just get behind the boys and see who we get in Jan. We had our time when players played for nothing ! so lets enjoy having some money to spend!

Trust me I very rarely put anything negative on here, i'm enjoying the Sven era as much as anyone and trust him. I think my main concern or hope is the boards expecations I hope the board are aren't putting pressure on Sven to buy players he doesn't want for commercial reasons i.e. Owen or other old prem players who will rinse our wage bill!

I definately agree with that bit. We should be aiming for players in the Rob Hulse mould (championship experience).

Rob Hulse won't get you on the back of the Bangkok Post. 'The owners want a big signing' We have to go with what the Thai owners want and what will give them the most coverage + just hope it works
