Wycombe Fox Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1344924/Gary-Mason-killed-cycling-accident.html Sad news - always gave his best in the ring.
Zingari Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 RIP Gary # one day you're boxing in a ring , the next day , ringing out in a box
Head Honcho Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Oh this is sad news. I remember spending New Years Eve with him in Tenerife about 20 years ago. I was over there with Chris Pyatt and he was in training over there to fight Lennox Lewis (I think). RIP
MPH Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 RIP Gary # one day you're boxing in a ring , the next day , ringing out in a box these have got to stop... i have no idea where you are getting them from....
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Very sad news. He was immense in his day and if he was boxing today where the quality is that bit lower from the days he was fighting I have no doubt that he would be up challenging for a world title.
Zingari Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 these have got to stop... i have no idea where you are getting them from.... It started in a pub conversation about old radio 1 DJ s and their catchphrases etc, and we got around to Mike Smith . He didn't seem to have any particular catchprases as such , but someone remembered that he used to do this weekly obituary thing where he made some connection between the person and some sort of euphemism for their death . it was just a gentle bit of humour to go with someone's passing and hopefully inoffensive we couldn't remember any examples specifically but the sort of examples we came up with to explain it were ; RIP Percy Thrower ( tv gardener ) one day picking up daises next day pushing up daises RIP Harry Ramsden one day frying chips next day cashing in chips i was trying to "resurrect" this gentle bit of fun and hoping a few FT posters with more creative minds than me will latch on and join in

R.I.P Gary, remember him as a decent fighter and (judging by interviews) a nice guy. Sad news.
