Brown Fox Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Burnley are on a great run at the moment and a few people are worrying about them spoiling our promotion push. They may have 2 games in hand but they have a very hard spell coming up where they have to play us, Forest away and then Swansea and have 2 of the hardest games with Leeds away and Cardiff as their last 2 games. I think we'll have done very well to to get 4 points from out of our next 2 games but after these 2 games the only teams that I think will be around the play off push that we have to play will be Forest away and then Burnley at home. We have quite a fair run in compared to most teams and if we can keep our unbeaten run at home going and pick up a few away wins against your Scunthorpe's and Boro's then there is plenty of cause for optimism after today.
Libertine Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 True. Before I expected us to probably beat Coventry and perhaps draw to Norwich and Burnley at home whilst losing to QPR and Forest. If we can just switch the Burnley/Norwich games to wins, and there's no reason we can't, we will be back on track.
Brown Fox Posted 26 February 2011 Author Posted 26 February 2011 I just think people are overreacting because after the Norwich game 6 out of the 10 games will be against bottom half teams where we can definitely gain points!

Brown Fox Posted 26 February 2011 Author Posted 26 February 2011 Like Coventry? well we did get a point
Brown Fox Posted 26 February 2011 Author Posted 26 February 2011 ...and some of those will be fighting for survival. only Palace and Scunny. Generally though I'd rather be playing Palace at home than someone else in the top 6
topharry123 Posted 27 February 2011 Posted 27 February 2011 Nice post, nice to see some optimism after what most of us saw as a bad result today! Burnley are looking good I agree. I think there's 4 teams really fighting for 6th right now. Leeds, us, Burnley and possible Hull. 1-5th look like they're pretty well tied up. A lot could change between now and the end of the season, but the top 5 look solid enough to be able to see it through, only Leeds look like they could give it up. The game against Burnley could go an awful long way to deciding who does end up in the play offs at the end of the season!!

Guest Posted 27 February 2011 Posted 27 February 2011 When I ran through the full forecast the other week I had Burnley going above us and then dropping back below us. Bad News we only got 1 pt from our last 6 when my forecast had us picking up 3 Good news Leeds and Trees and Norwich are not doing as well as I thought they should either. We can still catch Leeds and Norwich.
Corky Posted 27 February 2011 Posted 27 February 2011 Yorrrr avin a LARF Yes because every team comes to our place and win don't they?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 27 February 2011 Posted 27 February 2011 Burnley at home is massive. I know there is a while to it, but a win there would be great.
