MattyFromLE Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 3-4 weeks is a bit gutting but atleast all the Berner bumboys will get their wish if he comes back. Can Berner hack 3-4 weeks of 2 games a week at a decent pace? If Naughton goes left back does that mean Ben Mee going right back Surely if he's going to include Mee he'll use him at Left back? Putting Naughton onto his wrong foot would elimate what i consider to be an area that we are dangerous from, as per saturday.
acooling08 Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 Lets be honest, PVA would be exposed for his poor defensive play against QPR and would get nothing going forward against such a tight defense. PVA is probably my least favourite Sven signing (exluding Bender) so I'm not too bothered. Mee can play now and I like him! Most people nowadays tend to think that being a successful defender requires pace. It DOESN'T. Being a good winger requires pace. Bruno reads the game well, can make a good tackle, pops up with a goal now and then and has been so reliable. PVA has cost us more goals in 5 starts than Bruno ever has.
LCFC_FoRdY Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 It seems that PVA will most likely be missing the next 4 games, which are QPR (A), Norwich (H), Scunthorpe (A) and Portsmouth (H) Will berner be up to it???

He'll be OK for QPR. Perhaps he'll come off at around 75 minutes at Narch. That's assuming he's playing anyway.
CKB Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 I just don't think Sven will pick Berner.. Reckon he may go with Naughton at LB, slot Bruma at RB and pair Bamba and Mee at CB Berner reads the game well but with not playing lately Routledge could tear him a new asshole and Naughton would be the safe bet to try keep him in check pace wise
Bert Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 What you get with Berner you don't get with Van Aanholt, and Vice versa. The natural thing would be to slot Bruno in. It'd be a shame if Naughton got switched to right back because even though he could do a job, we'd not get the full benefit. We're just going to have to wait and see on this one.
Joe. Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 From what I remember, the last time Berner came up against Routledge was last season at the Walkers against Newcastle? It was his first match back after that bloody annoying injury of his - and he put in one his best ever performances in a Leicester shirt that day. Bruno is dependable, I'm not worried about him particularly. Keep Naughton at right-back...
vandamman Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 I'm not particularly worried about Berner coming in, we have been playing rubbish away from home and so, he will bring some stability to the side. Yes he lacks pace but when he has been called on he has made up for it in other ways. Also, if we were to get a corner, Berner knows how to put head to ball.
