MacksLCFC Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 Has anyone else applied / thinking of applying for some? I'm unclear on when or what you actually get charged. You "apply" for up to 20 different sessions at whichever price range, but when do you actually find out what you've been allocated and thus pay for? In the FAQs it says: Payment will be taken from all successful applicants between Tuesday 10 May and Friday 10 June 2011. Your Visa card will only be charged the actual value of your application once the application process is complete and if tickets have been allocated to you. But then on a separate question it states: We encourage you to take your time in selecting a range of sports, sessions and price categories to apply for. Tickets start at £20 across all sports. All price categories will provide a great Games experience. Please plan your budget carefully as you are committed to purchase any tickets you are allocated. Is it just me or is this a touch ambigous? Does that mean I'll be charged a total of everything I apply for, i.e. up to £3,200 and then subsequently refunded for what I'm unsuccessful in being allocated... OR should I just sack it off altogether as it's an obscene rip-off. Cheers for any insight
lildave3 Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 I applied earlier for numerous events, as far as I can make out it seems that whatever you're successful with, that's what you'll get charged for. Although it said you'll get charged between 10 May and 10 June, then on the next screen said they'll confirm the success of your applications by 24 June Either way, i've applied!
Webbo Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 I've applied for tickets to the men's football quarter/semi and final all at Wembley.
Bert Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 So, you can only pay if you've got a visa card? That'd terrible, unless I'm being thick.
samjohnson Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 So, you can only pay if you've got a visa card? That'd terrible, unless I'm being thick. Nail on head. Its because VISA is an official sponsor of the Olympics. Rather ridiculous.
MacksLCFC Posted 17 March 2011 Author Posted 17 March 2011 Either way, I'm far from being able to afford paying out up to £3,000 from my current account. Looks as though I may have to make some revisions to my application. i.e. trade 100m Mens Final at Olympic Stadium to Preliminary Archery at Lords, ha!
