Parafox Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 This is kinda linked to a previous query about password protecting files. I have unintentionally "hidden" some files whilst trying to apply a password to make them private (it's multi user computer). I couldn't work out how to "unhide" them so i did a system restore. The files have re-appeared but the folders within are no longer there. So the files have been restored but it seems the contents haven't. How do I find them? Will they still be accessible even though the files have been restored apparently empty. If I open a file it doesn't say its empty but none of the contents are listed. I have tried search but no joy there. Using Windows XP Home
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 What type of files were they? Could try searching for .doc or .jpg or whatever kind of file they were and if they're still there they might show. I think I did something similar to this years ago and that worked - though it was so long ago it might have been something different and maybe pre-XP.
