Alexikokopops Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 I've mellowed in my old age. Grammar issues don't really irritate me anymore, although I do enjoy pointing it out if there's some irony in there. However, I do get infuriated by poorly written mathematical equations.
DB11 Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 Pity English isn't taught properly in schools these days. I'd disagree and say it is. I'm good at English and it's through being taugh it! I'd just say that the mentality amongst students has changed and that most don't appreciate the use of good English, through reasons such as the medium of modern technology and "text talk".

Joe. Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Exactly and that could be interpreted as I've explained and as per AoWW's explanation of something belonging to lots of someone or something. It's not actually grammatically incorrect to add the extra 's' as StanSP says. From what I learnt last year you can include it on the end whenever it's heard if you get what I mean. Although it probably varies across different publications in truth. EDIT: And appears it was already answered!
