Ill check it out
Austin Posted 28 April 2011 Author Posted 28 April 2011 Michaels final episode tonight So there should be a torrent for it tomorrow Cant wait, 53 minutes of genius is what i'm expecting!
Dilkes Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 UK>US imo and in that Parks & Recreation thing, 4th person in, is in I Love You Man, I think
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Yeah and she is in the office us for a season or two. Also the main chick is off Saturday nite live and Baby Mama (I think that's the name)
Winchester Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Noooo, that's part of the genius aswell, The Office US has gone on for far too long, so many average episodes. The original was a perfect length, every single episode was superb, it quit whilst it was ahead and it will be / is looked back on as one of the greatest comedies of all time because of this. As for characters growing into their roles, they didn't need to, they were perfect from the start, you will never convince me the actors and the character relationships have been better in the US Office. The US Office is a sitcom with some funny bits in it. Steve Carrell is funny, and the Dwight guy is pretty good, but most of the others I'm not too impressed with. The UK office on the other hand is an absolute classic. Even the characters that aren't meant to be 'hilarious' such as Tim and Dawn are unforgettable. As has been mentioned, the uk one hit the right level of subtlety - like Tim's Oliver Hardy expressions made to the camera. classic. And that last episode when Tim steps out of the talking head interview to confront Dawn, that was a legendary bit of tv. If they had turned trimmed the uk office down into a 90 minute film, it would have won a Best Picture Oscar.
Austin Posted 29 April 2011 Author Posted 29 April 2011 Just watched Michael Scotts final episode. Utter Depression. Irreplaceable!

Even if it is a 10th as funny i'll give it a go. Just started watching a bit of this .. Really good show Office US is better though, but it's worth a watch
Haydos Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 Just watched Michael's last two episodes. Felt myself going! The goodbye song in the second last episode and the last 5 minutes of the final one were so real. Jim was brilliant as well. Sucks that there'll be no more Michael Scott

Sucks that there'll be no more Michael Scott I genuinely fought back tears .. Next week's episode has Jim Carrey in it apparently .. Dont know how I feel about that Great actor, but if he ends up being Steve Carell's replacement I probably wont watch anymore, could be worse .. Could be Catherine Tate

Could be Catherine Tate It seemed as though they hardly needed any directing for it, the acting was excellent and it ws brilliantly written. Michael and Jim in his office was one of the best moments of the whole programme IMO. As for Carey coming in, I'm quite optimistic. As for any series it's going to be a whole new era, maybe never as good again but Carey is a fantastic actor and I think he'll put his own spin on it. Michael Scott made The Office to a certain extent though, completely characterised it so I'm not sure it will survive much longer but like with Scrubs I'll give it a chance.

I'll give it a chance, but I was discussing it with my mate the other day and we were saying we wont watch the last episode and just pretend Michael Scott was boss forever. I thought the letter for dwight was a cracking moment aswell, playing paintball with him .. Just genius!

I thought the letter for dwight was a cracking moment aswell, playing paintball with him .. Just genius! Yeah they got it spot on with the goodbye's list. Toby's brother living in Colorado made me laugh as well. Personally I think this series would have been a good time to wrap it up, they most have know for a fair portion of it that Carrell was gonna be leaving. A lot of ends had been tied (Jim & Pam, they could have got Erin and Andy together this season as well and maybe done something with Dwight) not sure where else they're going to go with it as a whole but as I said, I'll see how it goes.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 Never ever let it die, only seen the last 5 minutes of the final episode and it was brilliant! I saw none of the build up but for him to leave a day early was great and it just seemed to work perfectly.

sdb Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 A while back someone put up a site where all US Office episodes could be watched. Anyone know it? Surely can't beat the originals. The few I've seen weren't as good, but maybe if I watch a few more it'll click.

It's no Tim and Dawn, just saying Started re watching the UK last night and it really does seem outdated, i still love it but they still use floppy disks and the office could do with a lick of paint

Austin Posted 10 September 2011 Author Posted 10 September 2011 The eighth season of the American television comedy The Office is scheduled to premiere on September 22, 2011 on NBC.[1] The series will air on Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. as part of Comedy Night Done Right.[2] This is the first season without Steve Carell as Michael Scott in the lead role. James Spader sort of replaces Steve Carell
Rincewind Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Just clicked that said it was only available from the website. Had a popup to say I was an Ipod winner. Closed it and a new window came up with the message claim in XX min or someone else from Leicester might win. How do they know I'm from Leicester? Never watched The Office much. Couldn't really get on with it. Might be because I only saw the odd episode. Are any of them on the catch up TV thing. I can watch Warner TV on m my Virgin box and some complete series but nothing special.
