Austin Posted 10 September 2011 Author Posted 10 September 2011 Just clicked that said it was only available from the website. Had a popup to say I was an Ipod winner. Closed it and a new window came up with the message claim in XX min or someone else from Leicester might win. How do they know I'm from Leicester? Never watched The Office much. Couldn't really get on with it. Might be because I only saw the odd episode. Are any of them on the catch up TV thing. I can watch Warner TV on m my Virgin box and some complete series but nothing special. That's odd .. I just clicked it and it took me to the page I posted. Urm, I'm really not sure tbh, there's plenty of places to watch it online or you could just download it? Genuinely can't wait for it to start again!

Haydos Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Hope this retains some of it's charm, Stevre Carrell was obviously a massive part of it and I can't help but wonder if they should have called it a day at the perfect opportunity.

I felt this at the time .. but i'm yet to find something to fill the void its left since season 7 finished!
Raw Dykes Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 I usually do, but it wipes the floor with our one I really don't know how you can say that. The American remake is ok. It's quite funny and pretty well made, but the original could well be the finest sitcom ever created. It will be remembered for years and years to come. The American remake will merely be a footnote, and rightly so.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 As long as there's plenty more Creed moments I'll be happy.

The English office 12 eps and a xmas Special US Office over a 100 eps more diverse and characters just keep improving I would also like to point out that the US ditched the remake part after 6 eps as it wasn't working. They took they concept and ran with it on their own scripts

They took they concept and ran with it on their own scripts I don't see how the number of episodes has any bearing on how good the show is. I'm talking quality, not quantity. Whichever you prefer, the credit should go to RIcky Gervais and Stephen Merchant - without their genius writing, none of the other versions of The Office would even exist. The original is possibly one of the very best things that's ever happened to television comedy. It's so rare to see something appear that's so original, well-constructed and full of pissyerpantsfunny moments, especially now, after so many years of comedy on telly. From what I've seen of the American version, I do think it's pretty good, but it's essentially just a "cover version". I just can't see it ever being a classic, if only because all the characters, the premise, the title, the situation and the style are all borrowed. It was only the very first episode that was almost identical to the original. They never did plan to just remake the original series - it had nothing to do with it not working. American sitcoms almost always go on for far longer than British ones, and I'm sure they were expecting to do this before they started making the US version.

Haydos Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 It's ending. Finale next week. The last two episodes have been brilliant. Man-tears have been shed. Anyone still watching it?
anotherharboroughfox Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 haven't been able to find any decent copies of this series. Any links?
Haydos Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 haven't been able to find any decent copies of this series. Any links? Piratebay? It hasn't been the best in the last few seasons but they're tying it up real nicely. http://pirateproxy.net/ (not sure if it's allowed to be posted on here so remove if necessary, sorry)
anotherharboroughfox Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 I was using isohunt but they stopped uploading cheers!
