Larry_LCFC Posted 19 May 2011 Posted 19 May 2011 I remember reading a while back that King Power were planning to change the name of the Walkers to the King Power Stadium, despite the fact that Walkers extended their sponsorship deal. Anyone heard anything more about this? Is it still going ahead?

I know walkers extended the deal aswell but I cant remember how long for. Im sure if KingPower want to change the name though they have the means to do it. Just havent heard anything more about it for quite a while.

samjohnson Posted 19 May 2011 Posted 19 May 2011 Oi oi, ladys... handbags away please!! The Walkers deal is due to expire in 2017. The original deal scribbled up when the stadium opened was due to expire in 2012, but they extended it in 2007.

Well it really isnt double standards because I admitted I was wrong and I said sorry to the guy. You are clearly just to ignorrant to understand that. Deffo cant see KP holding off until 2017. Will be interesting to see if anything develops over the summer.

Everybody, enjoy the banter, don't be a dick Its a good point but they were very keen to take the sponsorship of the players' tunnel as soon as the took control. LCFC is becoming quite a big thing in Thailand so maybe they are hoping to build up their image over there?

My point is this. There is no point in advertising pork chops to a Jew (expression, not a religious slur might I add). What would the point be as the Jew is not able to use it?

I dont really see a point in it other than maybe wanting to show how serious they are about the club. Could also maybe be a sign of future plans to bring KP to britain? Who knows but it was definately a clear intention of theres last august time. Wondered if maybe they would do it now the season has finished.

I'm guessing as this didn't happen, Walkers probably coughed up more money. If they didn't, I would imagine we would have heard more about it to this point.
