Bugg Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Okay, so I just got told that I'm off on holiday to Croatia on Sunday, and was just wondering if anybody who's been there before have any good place to recommend where to visit. No, I don't know where about I am going so any recommendations are welcome

Monk Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Depends where you're going. If Dubrovnik, then obviously make the most of it, but it is in the far south east of the country. The best trip I could recommend from there is to Sarajevo, if you have time, it's a cracking city. If you're based in the west, Zagreb or Zadar, definitely head out to Plitvice lakes, I'll be going there in a couple of weeks, and it's supposedly a stunning national park of waterfalls and lakes. Zagreb is an awesome city, well worth a few days, great food and a cool atmosphere. Split is about halfway down the coast, and it's Croatia's answer to Monaco, lots of Yachts, waterfront bars etc, and a stunning old town. It's on a little peninsula, and there's some good hidden beaches and trails around. Also from Split you can get out to the Dalmatian islands - Brac, Hvar, etc which I've heard are also amazing.
Bugg Posted 23 July 2011 Author Posted 23 July 2011 Cheers for the advice, wasn't able to go to Dubrovnik, but went to Pula, which is a beautiful place as well. Turns out I was only in Croatia for 2 days and was at Slovenia, Austria and Germany for the other 4. Got a cheeky trip to the Bursaspor game whilst I was out there too.
