Banners around the stadium

Someone said it in another thread somewhere, but all the stuff that was branded Walkers only reminds me of struggling seasons in the Championship, bankruptcy and a managerial merry-go-round.

Roll on a new start for the club. Doesn't mean we'll all forget the greats of yesteryear, the history will have its place and I know the club will get the museum right. Time to look forward though chaps.

i missed the old banners & thought the new ones were boring & a bit king power overkill the old ones showed our history which we should be proud of!!1

people need to get real!!! They could cover the stadium in pictures of horse shit and it shouldn't matter one bit. We all know our history, lets move on together and create a new chapter with a bit of money! What goes on, on the pitch is the main priority not "oooooh i can't see claridge and walshy anymore".

Jesus!!!!!!!!!

So people aren't allowed to show some affection towards their team's stadium anymore?

Players and managers, and even owners so some extent, come and go but the stadium will long outlive them. Most of these new stadiums are much of a muchness so any kind of personalisation means a lot to many people. Don't underestimate people's love for the their football club's home.

Ask Brighton fans how they feel about having a place to call their own again.

Really thinking twice about renewing your season ticket after seeing some advertising boards? Jesus Christ. What a shit fan

Try reading it properly Nobhead and note the word 'THERE' there are three other sides of the ground to choose from!

It was perhaps the term 'shit fan' that did it after merely expressing an opinion which is what this site is supposedly for. It amazes me sometimes that people make such mindless abusive comments just because they don't perhaps agree with someone elses opinion or in your case, didn't read it correctly (porobably in the belief that their opinions are the most important because they are the most loyal and best LCFC fan in their own little head). After a long time in the doldrums these look to be potentially exciting times and it would be good to all get on without trading insults despite differing opinions. As one person commented after my offering, not all supporters can afford a season ticket and just go down when they can afford to go, but it doesn't mean they are any less a loyal fan. As for my own position, having not bought mine and my sons season ticket yet is down to pure economics i.e. I've just lost my job after 34yrs and it makes sense to secure another job before forking out £500 plus. My only point was that I found the signs distracting and would perhaps move to another part of the ground thats all.

Cheers.

Would've like to have seen a compromise to be honest. King Power deserve to put their name on any advertising boards they like (as should any investor in the club), but like someone has previously mentioned LCFC has been round alot longer than King Power & will be around long after they've gone. Remembering 'the good ol's days' is what made this club & perhaps a banner(s) with the KP name & previous/current players would've be ideal in a perfect world.

However, It's not going to stop me supporting the club any less (more excited than ever for the coming season), but a good debate is what these forums is surely all about

To be honest, I'm happier to have 'Leicester City Football Club' back above the Kop than looking at pictures of Roberto Mancini or Richard Smith and going "Coo, I remember 'im." Other clubs are proud of their histories, but Manchester United don't need pictures of David Herd all over the place. Even Forest with their Clough obsession only remind you of him within the ground if you happen to look at their main stand roof. Time to start looking to the future.
