Rincewind Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Has anyone done work from home? looking at this site and wouldnt mind doing the typing and article part of it although my typing is not great and dont know if I will meet the standard required. This site is just an example and I was thinking that I may be able to work from home. The money may not be great but it would pay a couple of bills the JSA wont. I could choose my hours and be able to pursue other interests. I've done survveys before on a similar basis. You accumilate points then exchange them. But the snag is there is a pre-survey and you have to get through that to the real survey. But I dont like doingthem anyway.
Rincewind Posted 1 October 2011 Author Posted 1 October 2011 some are. looking for legit ones. Cant get a job in a normal way partly cos of my age and lack of experience in many areas but I am sure I could do something from home. There are jobs where you can do research for peopl who may be busy doing other stuff. Just not really looked into it and the jobs are not advertised much at the jobcentre or Mercury
Webbo Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 There are no shortage of qualified journalists out there who are looking for paid work. Sounds to me like you pay these people for some sort of course but I doubt if it will lead to any work. If you want to to do surveys join with these . If you're lucky you'll earn about a £10 a month in vouchers.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Might be worth giving this site a try - keep meaning to myself, but never have the time. It is legit, but you're not gaurenteed payment and the standard's pretty good. http://www.helium.com/
Rincewind Posted 1 October 2011 Author Posted 1 October 2011 Thanks. Not really looking for surveys but there does seem loads of them I There was a job come up to do with data entering. It says you need basic computer and typing skills and be able to spell. (I can use a spellchecker) As long as I'm not expected to copy out a novel within a week I should manage that. According to that survey site an article takes one hour and you get paid £10 each. Eight hour day for £80 and its part time. Not sure about that. It has also got to be accepted. How many will be rejected? I may ask about home work at the Job centre when I go Tuesday.
Rincewind Posted 1 October 2011 Author Posted 1 October 2011 I'll take a look at that site Trav. I could try sending my Community Pubs one and it will also give me ideas and motivation to do more. If it doesnt cost anything I have nothing to lose and some might like what I wrote.
Rincewind Posted 1 October 2011 Author Posted 1 October 2011 Just found out that with that Helium site if you have submitted an article elsewhere it cannot be posted on Helium and if posted there it cannot go anywhere else for a year. Not keen on that. I suppose its OK if you are writing for their site and the places they suggest. It would be OK for those that specialize with experience but I'm just a casual that want a wider audience . I cant post my community pieces for valuation then repost. Not sure if my blog counts. It is available if anyone ever visits.
