Be aware that it goes via Derby and takes about 1.40 or thereabouts; so you'll need the get the train just after 10.00 if you want to make kick-off.

Shame the game isn't a Saturday cos train times on Sunday to/from Birmingham are shit. Mainly cos you have to go via Derby. I will be driving though!

Bout 20min walk, but you might as well get a cab, only bout £6,!! More drinking time in the ground!! Ha ha

Bit longer than 20mins! Cab sounds wise though!

I'm training it also, me and a few mates getting a taxi from the station to the ground.

However I haven't booked tickets. Just a thought - will I have to pay for a train from Leicester - Derby - Birmingham or just Leicester - Birmingham? In-fact, I'll be absolutely fuming if I get charged more than £10.90 (the price I saw for a Brum return) because it's no fault of the fans. The tickets say "any route permitted" too.

It's so annoying they've shut it. But could potentially be quality. Just annoying as I live in Narborough and Birmingham is piss easy for me to get to.

The ticket might say "Any permitted route". It certainly won't say "Any route permitted". The two are not the same thing.

Happily though 'via Derby' is a permitted route (because of the engineering works) and the off-peak Day Return fare is £10.90 whether you travel via Nuneaton or Derby.

You will find it quicker on your return journey to travel on the Rail Replacement Bus to Nuneaton and then take the train to Leicester. Bus leaves New Street forecourt at 35 minutes past each hour.

Yup - it's 1½ miles - most people won't be able to walk that in anything like 20 minutes, especially if they are not sure of the route.

Shortest walking route can be found at walkit.com

I'm at university at Birmingham, New street is the closest station. I would reccomend getting a taxi from there though, its a bit of a trek!

If you make it in 20 you'll have to don a pair of running shoes then sprint like Linford Christie! Lunchbox an all...

More like 30-40 mins realistically
