ossieclap Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 1st time poster so go easy guys! :-) Interesting comments from Brian Little on TalkSport My link What I found most interesting was Brian's general comments on his state of mind and work ethic when he joined us. He was on a high and really wanted to get his teeth into the job with a point to prove. He had no experience at this level at the time but remember how he turned things around for us in a very short space of time back in 91? A bit of youthful enthusiasm coupled with a sound work ethic is what we need. How much experience at Championship level did Lambert have last year? Anyone else think we should revert back to the 90's philosophy of "young and up-and-coming managers"? .......I'm really starting to warm to the idea of Lee Clark......

The personal enthusiasm of the manager is part of what motivates players.
I am Rod Hull Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Martin Allen .. To be fair, we`ve had quite a few young up and coming managers over the last 20 years... Little, McGhee, O`Neill, Adams, Kelly, Allen, Sousa...
ossieclap Posted 29 October 2011 Author Posted 29 October 2011 Ha, yeah......forgot about Allen. He took new job enthusiasm to the extreme It's still a far better mandate than big names and column inches though
cc_star Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Although, Clark seems to have had backing that most clubs in that division haven't & he's failed to get them up for several years.

If it was a choice between Hughes and Clark, I`d go for Clark but i feel a little bit uneasy about poaching other teams managers.

Saxondale Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 The only thing I like about Allen is that he takes his dog to work. Something everybody should do.
carterfox90 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 still think allen would have done a good job even tho he upset the players the players were supposed to love sven & look how they have played for him. hope the players buck up today & play for themselves & the fans !!!!!!!!!!!!
