Pre-Season

I think there will be plenty of transfer activity this week. I have heard a rumour that Canero will be offski this week, perhaps as a part exchange for someone?

What more could a prospective new signing want than a horrific run up Beacon Hill on your first day in your job! No wonder why we're struggling to sign players! :D

Supposed to be 1st july but i thought it was strange to come back on a friday. I reckon all of the squad will be back on Monday.

Did'nt Levein say he wanted all of his signings in by the start of Pre season training?

I've read that we're going to be doing two weeks of strength and conditioning which I bet the lads will be looking forward to and we've been granted permission to use Loughborough University for pre-season so it might be a bit quiet at Belvoir Drive compared to past pre-seasons. They'll be taking part in a training camp in Norway to start to get the balls involved a bit more and then we come back after two games there to put the practice into some friendlies back home. I think things will be done a lot differnet under Levein. Adams used to start practicing set-piece routines within the last week of pre-season but I think working at them will become the main factor this pre-season

Sincerely hope you're right. Defending them particularly. Bit of a shame that we haven't got signings in that CL hoped for as I expect defence still to be added to which means that can't properly work with them as a unit. Think CL has right idea, though, and the worst thing to do would be to panic buy. Getting quality and value not an easy trick to pull off.

Well Levein said he would've liked to have made all of his signings before the start of pre-season for obvious reasons but I think we've been quite lucky to have got Henderson, Douglas, Sylla and Kisnorbo in already. I think if we can get a settled backline next season like we had towards the end of last season then we'll give ourselves a good chance of challenging at the right end of the table. I would love to see Kenton join us and Laursen from Celtic too but I think they would stretch our budget almost to it's limit.
