Rincewind Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Had a discussion with my brother last night, I said something along the lines of I had seen somewhere that when at uni he applied to join the Tories but was turned down. My brother said he could not see that happening as politicparties would not do that. I Googled but found nothing. Has anyone else seen this story or is it just a rumour?
The Doctor Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Well he certainly turned Labour into another version of the Tories so quite possibly.
accessory Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Basically Blair was (and still is) a Tory, but joined Labour because it offered better career options (and more chances of getting his leg over).

Never did you any good. Tony Blair's dad was a tory and would have been a tory candidate if he hadn't have had a stroke before that election. I'm sure if he( Blair junior) wanted to join the tories there wouldn't have been any problem.
Guest Bilo Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Everything about Blair's politics suggested he was a Tory with a red tie, so it wouldn't be a huge shock. Pretty much a real life Alan B'stard.
Zingari Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Many in the US considered him to be a Neo Con I think
