it's not a conspiracy theory as such, and i'm not quite deluded enough yet to believe that these players are actually plotting amongst themselves.

what I do believe is that Gallagher, Wellens and Howard are strong personalities, they will speak up, voice opinions, and essentially manipulate the atmosphere. couple that with out of touch young supporting them and slating others like Bamba at every turn, and it does become a strong core, almost union like in it's power.

are you honestly telling me col city fan, that businesses and organisations don't have power groups that hold undue sway, and are adept at manipulating the direction of movement? im fantasising now, granted, but I can almost see

Howard, Wellens and gally, walking along with Pearson on the way to training having a good old friendly laugh with their old buddy Nige, on the way to becoming almost undroppable.

I'm not naive enough to think that power and control is a factor in all organisations. Of course it is...

What I'm saying is that this is Pearsons job on the line.... And do you consider Pearson to be a pushover in the same way as Sven and Sousa maybe were?

Pearson will know that he must drop Wellens IF HE THINKS HE HAS ANYTHING BETTER TO PLAY. It's a results business and Pearson will not want to lose football matches.

On the subject of walking into the ground with your favourite players... Yep, I'm sure this happens but it's a fact of life.. Get over it... I'm sure that Allardyce chats more to Nolan than he does to Fred Sears...

So what?

You're just speculating all the time, have no idea what is going on with r/ships at the club and therefore just making broad assumptions.

One thing is pretty certain.. Nige won't want to leave a successful time at Hull to come here and get the sack...

If he thinks he can get better than Wellens he will do so, and drop him.

We really need to stop this Sven's Signings VS Pearson's old guard crap, look it is ok to slag off Wellens and Bamba, you don't have to pick a side, they are all crap. ;)

Things like this permeate towards the players and could cause divisions in the dressing room, there is no conspiracy theory, otherwise Tunchevm Berner and Weale would be playing, and we would be putting in bids for Morrison Hobbs and Fryatt. The issue is the midfield, specifically centre mid, Dyer plays on the left, because he is the only (left) winger at the club and was hauled off at half time yesterday. Gally plays wide right as Danns has proved he is crap there and Gally has been playing well scoring goals and deserves his place.

We look to the centre mids, we have Wellens, King, Danns, Abe, Fernandes and Johnson. The last 2 are on loan and will be leaving soon, no point playing them, Danns hasn't impressed when he has had the chance and neither had Abe until yesterday, Wellens and King also haven't been playing well, but out of 4 players none of which are playing well, you are always going to favour those that have played well for you before over those that you have never seen play well. Remember it was King and Wellens pulling the strings against Palace and Blackpool.

As for Howard, shouldn't be on the bench, but if he is going to be an impact sub he needs time to make an impact, started against Donny as Beckford was misfiring, didn't look up to it and was dropped.

This is hardly the stuff of cliques and conspiracy theories, Wellens has been living on borrowed time but he was the obvious/only choice for captain during Mills' suspension, but if he can't cope with training he should be rested for some of the xmas period 4 games in 13 days is a lot.
