prayforsnow Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 Hi Going to New York on Thursday and I know it will be an early kick off (7.15am!) but do any locals know of any sports bars that may show the Portsmouth match on Saturday? Thanks
LCFC BEAST Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 As it's on sky sports you could always stream it on the internet
prayforsnow Posted 27 December 2011 Author Posted 27 December 2011 As it's on sky sports you could always stream it on the internet This is my backup option...I'm seeing the bar idea as an excuse to start drinking early for new years!
NewquayFox Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 Try Stout bar across the road from Madison Square gardens, we watched one of the Lions tour matches at 5am one year and they have Sky Sports also... ;0)
Stuliasz Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 Nevada Smiths is probably the best place in NYC for football matches. Looking at their website, they will be showing it: http://www.nevadasmiths.net/football/fix.htm
Jace Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 Are there any Leicester fans in New York? I am sure years ago I was watching Soccer Am and there was some yank football fans on there who all said they supported Leicester because of Kasey Keller

It's a decent place and the beers are reasonably priced...........not the cheapest place on 3rd avenue though!
Jordan Posted 27 December 2011 Posted 27 December 2011 I do drink at Nevada's and have been going there for a while (but while I did start following City because of Keller, I'm not one of those Yanks mentioned above). However, for the Portsmouth match I will be at Football Factory at Legends, 6 W 33rd St b/w 5th Ave and Broadway (across the street from the Empire State Building). Great location (loads of subway lines stop right there), great staff (Jack, the guy who used to run the football at Nevada's, manages Football Factory), and a nice place. That's actually where I watch City games now, starting this season. I (along with my brother and the FF staff) are trying to get a New York Foxes supporters group going. As of now, I know there will be a few other City fans there, but since it's a really early kickoff, I can't say for sure what kind of a crowd it will be. You can follow @NewYorkFoxes on Twitter for info on Leicester City games being shown in NYC. The game is also on at Nevada's.
prayforsnow Posted 28 December 2011 Author Posted 28 December 2011 Thanks for the help/replies. We're only a mile away from the Football Factory so they'll be at least 3 of us joining you on sat
NewquayFox Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Me & my brother go to 'Jimmys corner bar' on 44th between 6th & 7th when we go over, spent most of my birthday in Foleys bar in 08, that must be close to football factory. Should be over again in June, love the place... ;0)
