savillefoxes Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 It's card's again this year. My mate is a steward down there and he has had to go in on the last 2 wednesdays for training with the swipe machine.
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 I was told in the pub by someone who knows someone, who knows someone who has seen the new shirts that knows someone, that this year to save on costs and to help the club they have employed Bernie to distribute the season tickets. He is starting in the centre of Leicester and going to everyone who works in the city first before working his way out into the villages. In his usual attire with hat and face paint. So if you here an "Aaaaaargh" while at work you know your season ticket is on its way very soon. Hope that helps. I'll be one of the last then in MK
Maybes Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Hopefully mine will actually make it out to me this year. Ended up having to go to the ticket office to collect a re-made a few days before the season started. Other one never actually turned up.
philce Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Apparently the company who were to install the readers last season went bust before they got round to installing them! Hopefully they will manage it this time (or whoever it is)!
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 It's only shocking if they don't turn up, what are you planning on doing with it now? lol
Kasey Keller Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 The new system is in place and the cards will be out soon, the new system is installed and maintained by www.fortressgb.com Its a fully automated system now with match day tickets having a barcode on, that the fan scans themselves, season tickets also work a bit like the new touchless chip and pin machines in shops the card just has to be placed near the reader to gain entry. The turnstile operatives now stand inside and outside the ground watching for any problems encountered.
filbertfoxy00 Posted 21 July 2012 Author Posted 21 July 2012 It'll be a disaster like everything always is with LCFC. I remember the automated system at the real ground, it never worked!
Ibbyfox Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 "It isn't the last minute" It was last year! I've had 40 years of it and probably 10 or 12 have been good seasons, the rest have been pure dross. Every season they try same...they try to fill you with anticipation of the storming season that is to come but generally it is a huge letdown. What do you expect them to do? Admit that the coming season is likely to be the usual average hum-drum and they are indifferent to whether you renew your season ticket or not? They are providing an entertainment service and have to sell it such, it's called selling your product.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 July 2012 Posted 23 July 2012 Thats a shame about the swipe cards. Last year me and my mate rang in saying we'd lost ours, got two new ones issued for 30 quid then sold em to our mates for 40. That was in October and they thought if they got away with it for two games then theyll have got their monies worth. Ended up using them all last season

Hopefully technology will have moved on slightly considering the automated system at Filbo was over a decade ago!
Fox92 Posted 23 July 2012 Posted 23 July 2012 I prefer booklets as well, although at least last year's season ticket was small enough to fit in my wallet. Thats a shame about the swipe cards. filbertfoxy00 Posted 23 July 2012 Author Posted 23 July 2012 Mr positive back again. Hopefully technology will have moved on slightly considering the automated system at Filbo was over a decade ago! Technolgy might have moved on but we will do it on the cheap like we always do. Remember that shilo "state of the art" scoreboard on the Filbert St roof? It will be a disaster, we all know it!
