Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 July 2012 Posted 23 July 2012 Did anyone else see this on BBC3 (I know Leicsfox did)? Personally I was really disappointed, because as I said elsewhere. it was rally the most amazing monets that BBC had on film. I didn't see any Jesse Owens, or Dorando Pietri, or Foxhunter... in fact I think the oldest footage might have been 1972 in Munich. DIsmissing 76 years of the Olympics as "uneventful" is ridiculous. Then they had a ludicrous moment as the no.1 moment. yes it was something emotional, but no. 1? It wasn't even a sporting achievement! Anyway, if you haven't seen it, judge for yourself, link to the iPlayer is below and for all it's faults it's still very watchable! http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01l22by
Zingari Posted 23 July 2012 Posted 23 July 2012 i've just noticed on freesat that the BBC have got 25 channels dedicated to the olympics
Jaspa Posted 23 July 2012 Posted 23 July 2012 Yeah I saw it Why do they stuff these programmes full of unknown, annoying 'comedians' ?
Chairman of the Bored Posted 25 July 2012 Posted 25 July 2012 I watched it. The clips were great, but the "comedians" were utterly moronic. ESPN did a show last night as well; Top 20. Jesse Owens, rightfully number one. The Eric the Eel "race" was sheer class. The guy was so proud, bless him. That's what the Olympics is all about. £10 for a baked spud and beans at the Olympic Village today, I'm hearing. I've also spoken to a volunteer who is involved in the opening ceremony. She says the first half is great, the second half surreal, and no one outside of Britain will get it. There is some 3D stuff in there as well. Oh well, roll on Saturday and get the real stuff on.
Leicester_Numan Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 i've just noticed on freesat that the BBC have got 25 channels dedicated to the olympics Where are all these extra channels then? I don't have any on freesat. The freesat coverage is garbage. Even the data channel 150 that you're supposed to be able to select events from only lets you choose bbc1 or bbc3 coverage. There's not even any coverage on the sports multiscreen like normal. The coverage on freeview is a little better as there is the red button coverage. Basically though, anyone having to watch on free tv is only getting to see what the bbc choose to show
Leicfox Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 I'd like to add this as one of the funniest and proudest moments... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/19072220
