Has there been a rule change regarding injuries

Apologies if this has been covered in another thread but I noticed that players no longer seemed to be required to leave the field for treatment. Were my eyes deceiving me or is this a rule change?

Nope, De Laet was made to leave the pitch after an injury today. It's only if you get treatment it happens. If you go down and get back up of your own accord you can stay on.

NB: One rule change that has been introduced is that if a player is wearing tape on their socks it has to be the same colour as the socks they are wearing.

I thought De Laet was required to remove some jewellery and that is why he was asked to leave the field of play.

Must have been my imagination though, thanks for clearing it up.

On the radio Stringer said his hand was bleeding.

One rule change I noticed is apparently we have timeouts in soccer now. A few times a player went down and pretty much all 21 other players wandered off the pitch for 5 minutes. Bizarre.

Always been allowed to do it, on a hotter day the referee doesn't mind as it's a chance to take on drinks. As long as the player doesn't go off the pitch there's nothing in the rules that says they aren't allowed to do it.
