Cardiff - a violent City?

I like to go out for a drink up Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow on a Friday or Saturday night, which can be a bit tasty at times. I've seen my fair share of bother.

However, I went to Cardiff on a stag a few years ago and I have never, ever, seen carnage like it. It was so rough. Police meat wagons in every side street. Fight after fight everywhere we went. Women fighting each other, rolling round on the floor. Rather large under dressed ladies crouching down and pissing in the street. Every young local male seemed to be a roid raging Neaderthal staring at you for a punch up.

So, regrettably, yes, there is something in the thread's title, although it has little or nowt to do with the individual accused of the hit and runs.

Not sure info about university cities and towns with two or more universities in is the best way to judge.

Probably not. But I couldn't be bothered to look for any more stats, so what do you do. Who cares?

If a man who has gone from the Saf to Glasgow says it's violent I'll believe him.

The city centre, especially Queen's Street, has become a bit infamous recently. It is mental carnage, walking down there sober at midnight is like going to the zoo or witnessing some kind of weird social experiment and you describe it quite accurately. Most of these people aren't Cardiff locals though, it's the people from the surrounding areas that get tanked up before they get here thinking that Cardiff is some kind of mecca. It might seem small but to many people in Wales Cardiff is the centre of the universe, you know how smug people get when they tell you they live in London, loads of people act like that here it's weird. I love the place, haven't always but do now. It isn't that violent or certainly hasn't felt it during my six years but everywhere has it's dodgy areas you just have to know where to go. Cardiff has a lovely art scene, great sports venues, quality live music and nice people.

Don't let one mindless ****in moron sway your opinion. There where loads of EDL people in Leicester last year, should we consider the city incredibly racist? No.

I have friends that live in Cardiff and can safely say that if you want violence there you will find it. It is a city that has been hit hard by the recession and there are lots of youngsters out of work or work for a pittance.

Think the last 4 times I have been out there I have had bother. Still it is a place which will guarantee fun no matter what day of the week.
