Rincewind Posted 22 October 2012 Posted 22 October 2012 Just started working at the Leicester branch as a volunteer. They seem quite pleased with me so far. Nipped in today and said I would try and use my contacts to get a Documentary on at the Doc Film Festival if they have one. The manageress liked the idea. Heres the link anyway would like to see the thread not disappear too far down the pages. There is a promotion day in December. Date to be confirmed. Donations of unwanted furniture and electrical goods welcome. Can be collected free of charge. http://www.heartfoun...es/default.aspx

purpleronnie Posted 22 October 2012 Posted 22 October 2012 I enjoyed my time working in a charity shop, but rarely did any decent records come in, all brass band kinda crap.
Rincewind Posted 22 October 2012 Author Posted 22 October 2012 Don't do records as far as I know. Furniture Tv's, washing machines etc. Did see a running machine.
Zingari Posted 22 October 2012 Posted 22 October 2012 These shops have to sell an awful amount of tat just to pay for the £150,000 + plus CEO salary . But best of luck anyway Nightguard
Rincewind Posted 22 October 2012 Author Posted 22 October 2012 I was told what they brought in each week and it's not bad. Also it is not all tat. a lot of the goods are end of range stock that is donated. The electrical goods are checked by electricians and there is a gurantee given on goods.

He reckons one of the old dears who works in the shop spent most of the afternoon checking it out in the stock room and I’m sure she’s not a qualified electrician .
