Durnerz Posted 18 July 2005 Posted 18 July 2005 Footballers fitness are at such a high level that even if they had McDonalds a couple of times a week they'd burn it straight off.Similar thing should be said about smoking. Smoking is rumoured to effect fitness levels, but Paul Dickov smokes and he's one of the most energetic footballers in the world. 139903 Actually compared to other top athletes in other sports, footballers have poor fitness. In other words, you don't need to be an athlete at all to be able to play footie at a high level... 139975 Ian Marshall proved that
cisono Posted 4 August 2005 Posted 4 August 2005 maybury and mcarthy cxame in mackyz today n had Paddy = Large Big Tasty Meal and a Quater pounder Alan Maybury = 20 Nugz, Large Coke and a ham burger oooooooOOOOOOOooooooooooooo YOU FAT BSTARD!!! 139685 The two are joined at the hip That is soooo bad [And I was telling off Tommy Wright for admitting eating at McDonald's!!!] PS: Mitigating circumstance: This must have been the day they got back from Norway? PS2: Where does Paddy put all that?!?!

It is not just the fat and calories in the burger that are bad. Think hormones, pesticides and artificial additives that are used. [Not even thinking about the fries made in old, recycled oil *brrrr*] All these substances are not "burnt off" as such and it takes the body time and work to get rid of those... in the meantime, it is likely to respond suboptimally to any athletic challenge... so why eat this stuff at all? (Anyone of us, but footballers and athletes in particular) As to the smoking, if Paul Dickov didn't smoke, he would probably be a better player!!!
Hitesh Posted 4 August 2005 Posted 4 August 2005 Cisono: Are you just going through every single thread that has ever been started? You seem to be dragging up everything!
C-man Posted 4 August 2005 Posted 4 August 2005 A meal from Macky D's isnt going to do anyone any harm, especially footballers, who will just burn it off quickly. Besides, it builds team spirit

If these players had McDonald's every day then I am sure it would be a problem, but I imagine it very rare that they eat shit like that. You cannot deny that their fitness levels are so high that a McDonald's wouldn't even touch the sides. As for all the artificial stuff, again if they don't eat this stuff on a regular basis it won't do much harm at all. Things like this would only become a problem if footballer's games were affected by this, the same with footballers going out on the piss.

I know from personal experience.

Guest Posted 5 August 2005 Posted 5 August 2005 Hi Lisa, did you mean "even if..."? Cheers. 150318 No, definitely if. I don't eat Mac D's, or most junk food for that fact, on a regular basis, but when I do, it gives me terrible stomach ache, some more than others.
