The 19-year-old was set on by four men while on a night out with his brother and a friend in the early hours of March 12. One of the men threatened the footballer, before another punched the left side of his face. He suffered fractures to his left eye socket in three places. The teenager had been visiting the Gate entertainment complex in the city and was waiting for a taxi when the attack took place. Northumbria Police do not believe the assault was motivated by the intense rivalry between Sunderland and Newcastle United. The footballer, from Houston, Texas, has played for the USA Under-18 and Under-20 teams and was due to play for Sunderland reserves against Manchester United until the injury ruled him out.

bluearmyfox Posted 20 July 2005 Posted 20 July 2005 He played ok against Brackley Town but I guess that's not unexpected given the opposition. Sheehan looked by far and away the best player on the pitch to me. He always seemed very calm and composed on the ball.
